Actually, the Netanyahu government says *security control* from the river to the sea - there can be Palestinian civil society, but the Israelis need to maintain military presence and checkpoints because they don’t trust the Palestinians to refrain from terrorism. From my understanding, they are protesting the colleges investments in companies that continue to invest in the continued war (at least Columbia and Vanderbilt protests started off that way). Tuition is a lot of money so students get upset when they see their money going for military operations such as attacking and killing World Kitchen volunteers who were trying to prevent innocent Palestinians from starving.

Why are children that appear to be under the age of 12 years old present at these campus riots?? That is a traumatizing event for a minor. It is an environment of violence and disruptive behavior. Freedom of speech is one of our rights in the U.S. but protesting that leads to riot-like behavior is on another level that only leads to destruction. Plus, what about the students that just want to go to school, attend class, live on-campus in the dorms or surrounding areas without disruption? This is an encroachment of the rights of non-participating students that are also paying for their education. Respect and consideration are paramount in all relations. The message of the protests can be delivered without this degree of selfishness, violence, disrespectfulness, inconsideration and illegal activity, like breaking into buildings. Peaceful protest and communication IS possible.

Joe is insufferable, but the students protests are not sound, the messages are cruel to their fellow jewish students and are building a hostile environment to them and other coeds. Their messaging needs re-calibration. Why don't all University students from around the country take their power to Washington to protest? Show Biden their voting power, but maybe they don't vote to begin with? Set their encampments there. What they are doing is cowardly and attacking the wrong people, their fellow students, who are trying to get an education and jewish students, who have nothing to with what is happening in Israel. You have the right to protest but the second you pick up a brick and damage propery, harm others, interfere with the day to day activities and lives of others you should be held accountable to the full extent of the law. 2 wrongs don't make a right. You can be critical of the disproportionate casualties in Gaza. But you can also recognize how this all started which was Hamas going into Israel and killing women and children.
