Wanderer specifically mentioned our "conscience", which might imply that our empathy and humanity would get us in trouble if we were to cross Colombina. He also emphasized her innocence and obliviousness, which gives a further reason as to why we might feel guilty harming her. He, on the other hand, said that he would at least be able to challenge her to a fight, and we all know that while he's not a complete psychopath, he doesn't feel much empathy nor connection to the weak or suffering, or just to human emotions in general. Maybe she does have some sort of power over emotions, like you said, or maybe there's something about her background and/or circumstances that might make fighting her go against Traveller's morals?

Here’s my take on the top 3 harbingers since pierrro is an. Outlier for Khaneriah. Capitano represents pure physical strength of a person. Dottore represents the technological advantage of humanity. And Columbina represents the supernatural and the spiritual sides of a living being. I doubt she’s a human so it makes sense she represents the supernatural gods of this world that came before the usurpers did.

I think dragon sovereign will still win no matter how much fatui harbringers becomes powerful. He is the heir of the ancient beings who ruled the tevyat before the usurpers. He is strong enough to judge gods. And imo after his authority came back his power grwon very much. We have seen apep was putting pressure alone with her presence. So if niuvilliete shows his true form it will be likely. I think he is strong enough to take dottore easily lore wise.

Dottore doesn't fear Columbina, but it would also explain why Columbina herself doesn't fear Dottore, either. They both have bird (raven/dove)/death (plague doctor/angel of death) motifs too, and in the Fatui artefact set, the artefact corresponding to her is, fittingly, Dottore's 'Wise Doctor's Pinion.' It would also make sense why Dottore and her are so close, even having a flirtatious relationship, considering she is literally the opposite of Nahida's 'life.' Though she certainly is not the strongest Harbinger - Dottore and Pierro, possibly Capitano as well, surpass her in terms of strength as we know from Childe. It could be said all three of them perhaps have 'conquered death,' Dottore even possibly falling in love with her (which, if she is a Seelie, could explain some of her motivation.) Though as much as I love them together, I believe that each Harbinger has their own independent and ancient reasons for joining the Fatui with the exception of Childe (personal but not ancient) and Scaramouche ( mummy issues, nothing even happened to him lmao), so we'll see what Columbina's is with time. I think it certainly will be an ancient grudge, as Columbina seems like one of the older Harbingers in terms of age, and we know most of them are not human (Dottore, Childe, and Pantalone are the only known exceptions to this, though Dottore has most certainly surpassed the limitations of an ordinary human on the fact he has strength fit to rival Archons and absolutely could wipe the floor with Ei, Zhongli, and all the rest if he wanted to [not the HP tho], the point is he is not a supernatural being, and Childe technically isn't either [though his Abyssal form is?]) We also know a good number of them seem to have motivations tied to the Cataclysm, with Dottore and Childe once again being the notable exceptions that we know of, given both were too young to experience it personally. (Dottore is less than 500 yrs old but possibly more than 200 years old, given the events in Tatarasuna, we definitely know he wasn't around during the Cataclysm because studying ancient civilisations' technology was forbidden by the Akademiya, and IIRC it was not during Faruzan's time, so he is younger than she is at least by a bit, and she certainly is not 500+ years old lol.) So, yeah, it'll be interesting to see what her deal is because there is a good chance she could be like Neuvillette and have a grudge that is far more ancient than the Cataclysm, but chose to align with the Fatui instead, perhaps recognising that they have the best odds of winning for a reason we do not yet know. . . As far as what Scaramouche says about her, you are misunderstanding it completely. He mentions a *conscience,* saying that Columbina could deceive the traveller with an innocent act of being a poor little damsel to basically get a cheap shot in via manipulation (which is why he says *with your conscience,* not with your strength.) What he's saying is that he'd see through her act whereas the traveller would not, but this is the same manlet who is assmad at Dottore for literally no reason and claims he was "manipulated," so it's just classic Scaramouche delulu/overestimation of abilities. If he had zero intel on Columbina, she could play him like a fiddle I'm sure. Either way, I hope she and Dottore tear him apart.

She's definitely the most interesting harbinger, and the argument for her being the shade of death is pretty strong. But, I think Lumine and Aether being the shades of life and death makes a lot more sense. She wears a flower in her hair, symbolic of the flower of life, and the flower artifact. He wears feathers in his hair, symbolic of the plume of death, and the feather artifact. Her outfit is light, symbolic of the light of life. His outfit is dark, symbolic of death. Lumine roughly translates to light, whereas Aether in mythology is the son of Nyx (the godess of night), and Erebus (the god of darkness). They both fly around with wings in the opening cut scene, indicative of their angelic/shade like properties. They both have the primogem star motif on their outfits, indicating a connection to the primordial one/Celestia. They have a special bond with Paimon, who is theorized to be the primordial one/phanes. And it just makes sense that twins would represent the duality of life and death. It also makes sense that they'd be fighting the second who came, who many people think is the unknown god from the opening cut scene. She calls herself the sustainer of the heavenly principles, because she's taking on the role of the heavenly principles, after having defeated the true heavenly principles (Paimon).

She's described as both an innocent and oblivious individual, but someone so unsettling Childe and Scaramouche tell us to stay away. THEORY HERE prologue: So we all know venti is the child of istaroth in some way but there's a thing that was bothering me about venti and their connection to death (theory about venti being the god of death by chill with aster) because people of mondstadt say that barbatos guides the spirits and we can see venti making the fake stanley npc see his dead friend to talk to him and have some sort of connection, that thing made me believe that venti isn't only istaroth's child but the shade's of death child too! because in greek mythology as i remember from history class most of the siblings would marry eachother because there was no one around yet and i thought that genshin took that idea but with the four shades, and istaroth's and the shade of death reason would be to create something powerful together by combining their powers to one being. or two. Was she perhaps outcasted by celestia and then the cryo archon took her in and joined her in the quest to go against celestia. Perhaps she could be the recorder. The one who records the truth of teyvat. She saw everything and as result, celestia tried hide their shameful history and decided to get rid of her. They took her eyes for some reason. Before she died the Cyno archon saved her.

I imagine Columbina's strength lies in deception. Tartaglia refers to being unsettled by Columbina because he knows she must be powerful to be #3 BUT she maintains a façade of a sweet, innocent girl whose intentions are unknowable because they're lost in her whimsical nature. Scaramouche says the same indirectly. That he could fight her and the Traveller should run because as a construct he is apathetic to human emotion. The Traveller is not, and may subsequently lower their guard or hesitate and that may be where Columbina is her most deadly. Here Scaramouche is either alluding to any powers here that Columbina's possesses or her mode of combat. It'll be interesting to see what Arlecchino has to say about Columbina. As #4, she must be incredibly influential, powerful or both. If even Arlecchino is intimidated then there's something more to Columbina that goes beyond mere combat prowess.

I don’t have any strong opinions either way, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Columbina were much stronger than even Pierro. But my theory, if this were to be the case, is that Columbina lost her ability of death and all that affiliated with her duty as the shade of death. How this could happen though, I’m uncertain. Outside of that though, she could be cursed, sealed, or simply have lost a fraction of her powers permanently.

I always thought she was an angel due to the whole thing on Archons having demon names. Barbatos, Morax, Beelzebul/Baal, Buer, Focalors, Asmoday/Ashmoday (I don't remember how it's spelled but it's the Sustainer). If demon gods can exist, why not angelic beings? Her feathers are shaped similarly to seraph wings, which can be taken as a hint towards her being some sort of angel-like being

If we encountered Columbina I'm sure she'd interrupt our ability to talk to Paimon. Paimon to me feels like the "colors of emotion" within the "light of the traveler". She would be able to resonate with out feelings to the point of injecting her own feelings on top of her combat prowess.

the description from wanderer seems more in line with that traveler with his on morals would find it hard to try to fight Columbina. potentially shes doing what shes doing due to some tragedy that has occured and which is potentially one that is super directly involved with primordial one. So far each harbinger has been shown to be a harbinger due to long past tragedy.

Maybe she's a shade, more concretely the shade of life. Since scaramouch is artificial life she would have to actually fight him rather than use her shade power of life to manipulate biologic beings. She might not be able to create life on her own -- since phanes needed her power to create life, maybe she also needs phanes to be able to give life. I say this because it's pretty obvious in Istaroth tales that shades while being all powerfull over some kind of world law (like life, death, time and space) they dont have authority over that law since they always work together woth Phanes when altering world laws (creating life, creating teyvat etc). Kinda like visions, people with visions can manipulate the elements but dont have authority over them. Maybe shades work like that, they can manipulate their "elements" but dont have authority. So Columbina could be the shade of life and that might let her control emotions/biologic beings, although creating life from 0 might be impossible without the "authority" to do so. Hence why scaramouche could put up a fight, meaning he would probably lose because she is a shade after all, but she would have to actually fight him. Maybe what Childe said to us is already her influence, making him think it's not even worth it to fight her. I think this is the case because tmof the meks she has with her. Maybe she like meks precisely because she can't influence them and their friendship/loyalty (we've seen sentient mekas, kinda) is important to her because of that.

I once entertained the theory that the shades or former seelies that have survived are somehow in cahoots with the witches of the Hexenzirkle. Mainly due to the similarities with their purpose in the story right now. The witches either created fake domains or gave riddles or appeared in a voice to guide travelers/adventurers to progress the story. Seelies or shades seem to have provided that guiding education for ancient civilizations and in game, seelies leads us to treasures. It's hard to say for now since there aren't a lot of stories in history relating witches and angels, besides the idea that angels are messenger of God and witches practices the Devil's magic. BUT Genshin have a way of twisting these inspirations, like why would archons have demon names when they're the good guys? but Tsaritsa has saint name and is actively going against Celestia? and why are we trusting the words of witches rn?
