It is still attempted murder if you shot a dead body intending to kill them even if you don’t know the person is already dead. A disaster of an episode with the two “villains” acting like two overgrown children.
@johnnysunday4023 ай бұрын
If the body is already dead you cannot argue any facet of 'murder', as the crime (injury) can only take place & be directed against a living person, not a deceased individual. There is a list of offenses that could be stacked up such as: Desecration of a corpse, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and interfering with a crime scene, obstruction of investgative process. But attempted murder requires the intent to kill a living individual, once the individual is deceased the claim of injury or intent to injure becomes irrelevant.
@monkeyman5105Ай бұрын
@@johnnysunday402 It is still attempted murder if the criminal still believes the individual was alive. If they shot a dead body knowing its dead, it is desecration of a corpse. If they shot a dead body thinking they are alive, it is attempted murder. In this episode, he should have been charged with attempted murder on the first arrest, but after they discover he did kill her, it would be murder + desecration. There are multiple examples of attempted murder even though someone 'killed' a dead body in multiple jurisdictions irl.

One of the worst episodes. Initially they let the murderer go because they believe he **only** shot a body that was already dead (later revealed to be part of the killer's plan). BUT THAT'S STILL ILLEGAL. Ignoring the "real murder", he still shot a body he believed to be alive (according to him). That's attempted murder. Even if he wasn't charged with attempted murder, there is still desecration of a corpse and illegal discharge of a firearm.
@truth99587 ай бұрын
Maybe not attempted murder, but at least "Mutilation of a Corpse." That alone is worth 12-ish years in prison. He should have been in jail as soon as they found out he shot the body. All that being said, I still though it was her the entire time.

@akmi1931 Why does that surprise you?… he’s an elderly married man with a wife he lived his whole life with. In addition, he’s a homicide detective who’s seen and touched all sorts of things. No reason to be squeamish or coy about underwear. Well adjusted mature ppl without below-the-belt hangups can handle underwear just like any other piece of clothing. The immature ppl, on the other hand, like you and other commenters responding to you in kind, must have their own unresolved below-the-belt fixations that they project onto others. As a well-known quote goes, very often banana is just a banana, and underwear is just underwear. Grow up and/or get therapy.

Label on the left. Surprisingly just about every single article of clothing made for women follows that exact rule.
@jamesfeldman42349 ай бұрын
Yes, but clothing manufacturers, whether for a female garment or a male garment, generally put clothing labels on the left by default. For example, I often wear turtlenecks in the winter and so does my wife. To tell the difference between the front and the back, so you don't put it on backward, manufacturers sometimes put a label that goes at the inside-back of the neck, but almost all put a label on the inside-left along the inseam near the waist. This makes it easy to know which way to put on the turtleneck. Just make sure the label's on the left side when you put it on and you're good to go.
