I have two CA19 frames from Combat Armory that I built from scratch. I had many issues with failure to extract and failure to feed, but it was due to after market slide parts. After I replaced the striker assembly, ejector, and extractor rod and spring with OEM Glock parts. I may have also replaced the extractor but I don't remember. It runs flawlessly now.

Yeah this is something I've seen over the years (Glock Armorer here). I've got one of their frames with all Glock internals and I haven't had any issues that weren't Magpul mag related (I do agree that they're not that good, especially the early batches). I played this at 1.5x and I saw a lot of what I'd consider to be questionable 'testing'. A lot of FTEs can be traced to .40 extractors in 9mm guns. Running aftermarket mags, or Glock mags with aftermarket bases/parts can be problematic. This is a sample size of one and anecdote is only evidence of the anecdote itself. My experience to date has been that most aftermarket slide and frames are generally ok (barrels can be a mixed bag), but when you start adding aftermarket internals, you start getting into issues that become more and more difficult to diagnose. I browsed this pages multitude of links and shockingly enough, no bios, just lots of typical guntuber stuff. *shrugs*

Very fair review. I am surprised they went to that much effort for a pistol at that price point. They could just have told you to pack sand and suck it up. I do have to say...the ejection pattern in the beginning footage is impressive.

What a great video. Thank you for letting the company show what they think of their customers (which turned out to be excellent customer service). I have one of their frames that came with a lpk and i assembled it myself (first time doing such a thing). It replaced a dagger frame for all of the reasons you stated about holster compatibility. I use a complete dagger slide and have ~500 rounds through it with just a couple malfunctions when using cheap magazines. Over all i have been very satisfied. I guess i got a good locking block :)
@RTTGunsGear6 ай бұрын
Thanks! And yes, as far as frame to frame. I'll take the CA frame over the Dagger frame any day. Assuming the CA frame and components are working together properly.

Honestly, impressive that the customer service went through all that. Surprising that for that price point they didn't just say "you get what you get, deal with it" so it seems like if you're okay with the possibility of going through that troubleshooting process, might be worth getting one.

Interesting review and video(s). It’s amazing that the least suspicious part can be the culprit of days/months of headaches. I am amazed that this issue came down to the locking block. During a recent LEOSA qualification, a shooter was having major ammo issues with numerous failures to fire with “new in the box” Turkish 9mm. I switched him out ammo, which cycled perfectly. I gathered up his boxed & unboxed ammo and misfired rounds and brought them home to autopsy. Primers all had good strikes and functioned on the bench with powder removed. Close exam revealed the powder was saturated with and oily solution. Now, to qualify my position, I also purchased a CA19 frame and a CA19 pistol. I'm not to happy with all the pins tolerances, but I’ve never had a locking block issue. In so far as the gun out of the box performance and subsequent usage, I’ve never experienced an issue. Luck of the draw, I guess. Everyone’s experience is different, but I will agree 100%, some folks don’t know their a*s from a hole in the ground, and they share the hell out of me with a gun in their hand! Happy shooting! Dan

CA is a solid but mysterious little company. I've never understood how they went from random AR parts and lowers, and a never ending supply of dirt cheap Glock barrels, to offering a polymer Glock frame.. That said, I've had good luck with several of their barrels and the 19 frame (using an AIM parts kit)

So I was wondering why U weren’t just using OEM Glock mags instead of ETS, but maybe U did use Glock mags and I missed it. ETS mags don’t have the greatest history. Personally Ive had better luck with PMags, but nowadays only buy OEM Glock mags and have always only used OEM mags for carry. The video was good and in depth and well documented.

An update to my last comment on your last CA review 10 months ago. What you’re saying is spot on so far. I’m in the middle of what you went through with the same gentleman you’re speaking of. So far he’s gone above and beyond to help me out and get this right. We are not there yet and hopefully will be soon. My issue was with the slide being out of spec along with the cruciform issue you were speaking of. I prob got an LPK from the same batch you did. I begrudgingly ended up taking mine to ATEI Guns here in Michigan and spent quite a bit of money to get the original gun running but it was not what you want to shoot on a regular basis. I always correct any issues on my firearms but this one had me stumped. The cruciform had to be altered tremendously by Doug at ATEI and after speaking with CA they don’t want me, and ultimately I don’t want me to have a pistol in my collection like that. So I’ll keep you posted when I get a new slide in the and new LPK installed in the coming week. Fucking awesome and real video man. I want this gun to work so bad because they’re a local company to me and I want them to have success. But…..in time.

I think all these glock clones have this trigger and locking block issue. Had a dagger/p80 trigger do the same burst fire. Many also get feeding issues if the parts aren’t polished down first. Sounds like a good company. I think they are showing that budget option is possible and some options are overpriced. I have seen many reviews and ppl just say on more expensive guns just don’t use this ammo might have issues

It was never going to be a trusted self defense tool, so it is what it is, a low value, g19 g3 clone that'll be a range toy or safe queen.

I think you just had bad luck. I've built 2. Of course the only CBA parts I used were the polymer frames. The first one I built I couldn't get any of the premium triggers I bought to work, they worked well in my Glock 23s and 19s, so, I ended up using a DAGGER trigger with Glock performance parts. Even the cheap chinese Glock copy triggers would not work in the CBA frame. I live in SC and PSA is down the street, they have a great indoor pistol range. That particular CBA pistol FRAME shoots well and is very reliable. My second build is also very reliable, but again, the only real CBA part is the polymer frame. I use Magpul magazines, they work well, but actual Glock mags work the best. I spent way more than I should have on cheap frames, And I have 2 reliable Glock 19 copies that don't have any resale value. As far as competing with the Dagger, well, the Dagger is cheap, but not cheaply made. All my Daggers were built exclusively with Dagger parts. I think the best Glock 19 Copy is probably the Polymer 80. I've built 2 of those, all with P80 parts and mags, they shoot well. The Anderson Kiger is a real nice shooter, I have built 2 of those. I like Anderson products. the Lone Wolf frames are premium. The SCTs are good. Finding holsters can be a challenge. I also think the clones perform better with the heavier bullet weights. 115 grain is the cheapest ammo (any brand) but I found that even my Glocks perform better with 124 and 147 grain bullets. So, if you have read this far, I would say, buy the actual Glock 19 if you want 9mm or the 23 if you want 40s&w. if your a first time gun owner, and have found you made a mistake and cannot own a gun for whatever reason, the Glock will sell fast, and you will get a good price. A used clone is worth more in parts than completed. And if shooting is a new found passion, the Glock can be easily customized with triggers, sights, barrels. holsters are easy to find. Happy shooting everyone. Dave in SC
