Nice honest video. (showing my age). When i joined in 1979, the job they gave me was "Tactical Air Command and Control Specialist." At BMT, i found out the "real job title" was a Forward Air Controller. Most of the training was done by and your assignment would be on an Army base. I asked for another job and ended up being a KC-135 air refueling boom operator and KC-10 Instructor boom operator my whole 20 years in. Peaches, i commend you for the job you did. As Kyle said, you definitely earned your Beret.

Does anybody know how work/life balance this job is? Ive been told Air Force deployements are 6 months, so what are combat controllers doing while in dwell time?

lets just say. with 2 years as being in training and 2 years doing the job. its not going to be many options for a contract like that. you'd have a better chance with applying for a 6 year contract. always, as a recruiter for openings and bonuses.
