The DSI actually went into full action not that long ago. The most well known crime reporter of the Netherlands, Peter R de Vries, was murdered on the streets of Amsterdam. This happened just after a live television talkshow in broad daylight. After security cameras in the area recorded the assassins, and their escape vehicle. The DSI was deployed to track down these escaping suspects. The license plate was later tracked by highway cameras, and directly wired through to the team. The DSI eventually hunted the suspects down on the highway, and arrested them pretty easily. This really shows the hightech capabilities of this team.

Dus genoeg manpower en snelle response time.

Just a minor thing, they say " We put a step forwards where others need to take a step back". They dont say we take a step back before going to work. Our police force always take that step back before going to work. But the comment is more based around the fact that the DSI goes to work when other police units cant anymore.

They are visible when needed. A few years back we had a terror attack in Utrecht and all of a sudden the grey uniforms move in and get the job done. I once had the 'luck' to have Them close by when i could use assistence in my job. Long story but lets say DSI operators project control, rest and if you know what's healthy for you, you Will do as they say. It made my day alot easier, safer and well ... I could Just sit back in an otherwise dangerous situation.

Hey man, im dutch and i can explain a little bit. The kit of the second guy you review. Is a nl marsof operator. They are the special forces of the marines. They work together with the dsi in critical situations. The 3rd guy is a normal police officer. The 4th one is a hrb operator. Bsb stands for brigade speciale beveiligings opdrachten. In english this is special security task brigade. They do security tasks all over the world

Have to admit I was getting sick of the lockdown game that politicians play by competing to have the most impressive bookshelves behind them when they do their media interviews, even to the extent of having a certain book pulled out so you can read the title and it sends a secret message or something. Greenscreen or not, stormtrooper helmets get my vote! Interesting video. There's a reason why you should keep the military and the police seperate. One should be for external threats and the other for internal. When we deployed British troops to Northern Ireland to provide security for the police against the terror threat, it blurred the lines too much. There was really a need for a police unit that was capable of dealing with that kind of threat level, because it's not good when you see the regular police force having to carry MP5s or any arms at all in the UK, or regular soldiers deployed on the streets.
@TheLH863 жыл бұрын
The benefits however are many fold in having some crossover, while I agree in having separation. In fact, in US national crime stats report overall far less use of force complaints against officers with military experience, even more so with combat veterans. However, the military should always be kept seperate, especially from the political sphere, so they can't be used as the tools of politicians all too willing to wield power and authority they haven't earned or unwilling to rescind once gained.
