In the case of declared war, the military police fight alongside the Brazilian Army.

At 1:50, it's a Leopard 1 MBT behind the soldiers; at 2:13, this hat is called "jungle hat" or "chapéu de selva" in portuguese, and it's given to military personal that finished the CIGS, sometimes reffered as the best (and hardest) jungle combat course in the world. At 6:14, the rifle is the IA-2 in 556x45, there's a version in 762x51 wich I prefer 😅 (of course, my heart belongs to the old Parafal, hahaha!) At 7:15, it's the MCT-300, a Brazilian cruise missile launched from Astros II, our indigenous MRLS 😉 The cammoflage pattern is unique, I don't know about any other coutry using anything like that - but it's pretty efective in our environment (Air Force and Navy use almost the same pattern, with a little change in colors). Edit: I almost forgot, the soldiers running at 2:56 are using the "caatinga" uniform, it's a Very tick BDU with heavy leather reinforcements to resist punctures fron cactus and others spikes from this dry land vegetation... It's like an full body armor, believe me! 😅

Interesting facts: Our Army (Brazil) Has different platoons, that specialize in the types of terrains they would have to fight in. The "funny camo", with the nice hat, are for the Jungle Force (CIGS). The men in orange, fight in our kind of "desert", called "Caatinga". That color of uniform, matches the soil color of the caatinga. We are a 500 years + Country. The book depicts historic figures of the Brazilian Empire. It relates to our Independance day from Portugal. Check out the Jungle Troops - CIGS - Centro de Instrução de Guerra na Selva. Its about surviving and combating in the jungle. Very cool.

cool fact for ya! The veteran was aprt of the cobras fumantes! The Brazilian Expeditionary Force nicknamed Cobras Fumantes (literally "the Smoking Snakes") ] was a military division of the Brazilian Army and Air Force that fought with Allied forces in the Mediterranean Theatre of World War II. It numbered around 25,900 men, including a full infantry division, liaison flight, and fighter squadron. Placed under United States command, Brazilian troops fought primarily in the liberation of Italy from September 1944 to May 1945, while the Brazilian Navy and Air Force participated in the Battle of the Atlantic from mid-1942 until the end of the war. The FEB operated mostly at the platoon level, seeing heavy combat at the arduous Gothic Line and during the 1945 final offensive. By the end of the war, it took 20,573 Axis prisoners, including two generals and close to 900 officers. The division lost 948 men killed in action across all three services. Brazil was the only independent South American country to send combat troops overseas during the war. Known for its tenacity and bravery, the FEB was well regarded by both allies and adversaries; it served with distinction in several battles, most notably at Collecchio, Camaiore, Monte Prano, and Serchio Valley. Likewise, Brazil's navy and air force played important roles in protecting Allied shipping and crippling Axis maritime power, inflicting disproportionately high losses on enemy munitions, supplies, and infrastructure. Due to the Brazilian regime's unwillingness to get more deeply involved in the Allied war effort, by early 1943 a popular saying was: "Mais provável uma cobra fumar um cachimbo, do que a FEB ir para a frente da luta" (literally: "It's more likely for a snake to smoke a pipe than for the FEB to go the front and fight"). Before the FEB entered combat, the expression "a cobra vai fumar" ("the snake will smoke") was often used in Brazil in a context similar to "when pigs fly"; soldiers in the division subsequently called themselves Cobras Fumantes (Smoking Snakes) and wore a shoulder patch depicting a green snake smoking a pipe. It was also common for Brazilian soldiers to write on their mortars, "A Cobra Está Fumando..." ( "The Snake Is Smoking...").] After the war the meaning was reversed, signifying that something will definitively happen and in a furious and aggressive way. With that second meaning the use of the expression "A Cobra Vai Fumar!" (literally: "The Snake Will Smoke!") has been retained in Brazilian Portuguese until the present

USA mostly by British and Irish and Brazil mostly if not totally by Portuguese, hence, the official language is Portuguese and not Spanish as the entire World tend to believe. Both now, having many different races and different people. People in general are clueless about the brazilian race diversity if we talk about the southern part of the country. For example, who would guess Brazil holds the largest Japanese post and after WWII (yes... Japanese) colony in the World ? Add to this, many Germans, Italians, Lebanese, Syrians, even some Polish, Finish, Ukranians, you name it. Brazil is heavily depicted by the tropical population looks and sceneries and due to this, people around the World have very little knowledge if none, about the restof the country. The more central and southern part of the country where it goes to temperate areas is quite different from the northern part. Sometimes people forget how imense the country is. USA is only larger in territory because of Alaska and Hawaii so the 48 states territory in US is actually smaller than Brazil (also the impression of country sizes are a bit distorted by map projections since the closer they are to the poles, bigger they look) And I'm sure as a USMC soldier, you already know that (I am a Pilot). Also, Brazil is not Hispanic. it's considered a Latin Iberic (Lusitan) country. It's one out of 4 Countries in South America where Spanish is not the official language. Suriname, Guiana and French Guiana are also non spanish speaking countries. Regarding the differences between the armed forces and Police, it goes this way: The country has the 3 regular branches that respond only to the President so it's subordinated only to chief of the Executive power (President). Since the Country is a Federation exaclty as USA is, there is 26 states with Governors plus a Federal District. Each state has it's own police force (Military Police, subordinated to the Governor and in case of war, considered as a Auxiliary Power for whatever purpose, being subordinated to the Army. Even nowadays, the Brazilian Army does all states Military Police inspections and regulations. And as a remark, Military Police in Brasil should NOT be confused with MPs... They are not. (All 3 Armed Forces in Brazil have their own MPs). Military Police in Brazil is absolutely different to the Army when it comes to equipment and job. They are not allowed to use heavy weaponry except only for the Military Police in Rio de Janeiro state (their SF group called BOPE) where they can even use at least M249s due to their insane urban warfare conditions compared to the rest of most places in the Country). Then , you have Civil Police which is also ruled by state and subordinated to the state Public Ministery. It's more like an investigative Police and undercover Ops where the Military Police is purely street patrol or daily occurance calls. Then you have the Federal Police which the name speaks for itself so it does basicaly the same job as state Civil Polices but in Federal Level, fiscal or political crimes. It's equivalent of what the FBI is in USA. Another remark, the ilustrations in that book are not fiction. It depicts Brazil's independence (1822) from Portugal. Brazil is also the only country on the Planet where during colonial period, the colonizer settled for a while inside its own Colony. (Portuguese Crown fled to Brazil during the Napoleonic War). As for WWI, when you see the old vet, there was the FEB (Força Expedicionária Brasileira) where many soldiers fought in Europe in 1945. This should be VERY interesting for you to check ! kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqOVYaR7bqp1eas&ab_channel=TheFront Northern Brazil also had big influence from American soldiers where Air Force Bases were used during the Pacific War. The Rifles are Brazilian made Imbel IA2. At 7:05, what you see is the ASTROS II Launcher system, also developed in Brazil. Brazil also had (not sure if still has) Aerospacial Tech. It does have a big lab and Air Force Base in São José dos Campos (Also Plant of Embraer as you probably know, a big Airplane Manufacturer) where they develop/ed non crewed space rockets but as far as I know, they shuted down everything after the VLS-1 Rocket Explosion at Alcântara Base back in 2003. You can google everything if you are interested ! Sorry if I'm repeating many things already answered here but I ended up not reading other comments on your video but regardless, I hope it helps a bit !

The historical part is based on the independence war of Brazil, also the part at the end was not rockets, it was the stars of the flag joining together with the emblem. And our army also has a scene with the anti riot unit.

As a Brazilian, it depends, the Brazilian military does SOMETIMES act like the police, but not in normal operations, they get called, when, the police themselves ain't gonna cut it. usually assaulting "favelas" (local comunities full of gang leaders), because it's scary for the policemen, because in these comunities if you're a cop, and they see you, you will get blasted. BLASTED, you ain't making it out alive. so sometimes the army, comes up with some troop carriers, that are kinda like "tanks" but for troops, helicopters, sometimes the BADDEST OF THEM ALL, the ones we call "Comandos", which are the hardest mother fuckers on the Brazilian army, there are video, of gang members talking about how vicious Comandos are, where they drop of the heli upside down, with their knife, and kill their enemies, Brazilian gangs really be scared of those mfs. but that's when the military gets called to make operations, USUALLY, the police cut it. We call our policemen of some branches, "Policial Militar" which means "Military Cop", because even thought they are not in the military itself, they are their "own" military branch. that tends to focus specifically on the protection of the people of Brazil. Like for example, the "BOPE" or "Batallion of special operations", they are the "comandos" of the police. there is even a really amazing movie, of the BOPE, called "Elite Squad". But that's basically it, the military doesn't usually act like the policemen, specially on the fact that, they can't really detain you, and take you to prison. only if you got caught in the middle of doing something illegal, but that's because anyone can do that in Brazil, even civillians, if you catch someone doing something illegal, you can detain them, in the name of the law, and then call the police to take them in. The military it's there, for when it's too dangerous for the police, but when the military comes, shit's about to hit the fan, because, trafickers tend to make fun of the police, but, are always scared of the army, because they know, they did something real bad, for them to be there.

Good morning mate. I was watching your video and noticed your doubt regarding the separation of the Brazilian police from the army. Brazil has 4 police forces. The Federal Highway Police, the Federal Police, the civil police and the Military Police, who are responsible for for patrolling and responding to police incidents in conjunction with the civil police, which is more focused on investigative work. In the case of the PM, it is an auxiliary force of the armed forces and in case of war they are automatically converted into a military defense force.

@Chris George the armed forces are issued with the local version of the beretta 92 produced by Taurus (the Taurus PT 92). The Police forces usually are issued with the .40 version of the same weapon (PT 100), but depends on the state. The police force that I work is being issued now with the Glock G22 G5
@sergiorl11633 жыл бұрын
@Chris George in my experience Taurus weapons only begun minimum reliable in the earliest models...every single gun made by them, from pistols to carbines had serious failures in my hand, even during shootouts...so I prefer my issued FN Scar 16 and my Glock XD
@sergiorl11633 жыл бұрын
@Chris George interesting, never had any malfunction with my gen5 so far, even with the more “problematic” .40 round The G3C is a great weapon, the amount sold in Brazilian market proves that, in my opinion, but police departments are going in the Glock 17/22 direction nowadays based on the past experiences of tons of malfunctions over the last two decades with Taurus (and the recent end of import restrictions that government has lifted) , the only exception was the PT 92 (armed forces standard pistol)

The Rifle is the Imbel IA2. It is a recent rifle, of our creation. I believe it is only in use here in Brazil. Uses 5.56 NATO and 7.62×51mm NATO calibers The tank at the beginning of the video is the Leopard 1A5 and we are already studying to change it to a better version. Even here there is talk about possibly adopting Abrams. And the main armored vehicle for transporting troops here is called Guarani, created by the Brazilian Army and manufactured by the Italian Iveco. It is a 6 X 6 vehicle and very modern.

thanks for reacting to our country. I like to see your videos If I may, let me explain points (my English is not perfect but I believe I explain myself well) Brazil exists as a country for over 520 years we were a Portuguese empire and that's why we speak Portuguese, our history is long full of internal and external wars and we went through parliamentary politics, the united states of Brazil and finally had its independence 198 years ago and became a republic today. The police is divided into two parts (civilian and military) in a serious summary, Civil-Detectives Militar-Patrol. End the military police is it special reservation in case of war our contingent 200k soldiers became 450k in a blink of eyes :) About the rifle you saw, we have a national gun industry that produces (base licensed) some rifles, I think is it a TAURUS CAL.40 (I'm not sure) And the missiles, yes, we have Brazilian artillery missiles and air force missiles created by Brazilian engineering, much of our technology is sold to allied countries like Argentina, Uruguay and South Africa. now to add information for you I suggest you look for a special police unit that does missions in favelas"shanty towns" (BOPE - special operations battalion) and WW2 fighters to FEB (Brazilian Expeditionary Force). and there is a Sabaton/Smoking Snakes song and the movie -ROAD 47(2013) I hope this helps you. best regars from BR.

Armed Forces: Navy, Army and Air Force (In this same order, because the navy is the oldest force in Brazil) As auxiliaries, they are: Military Police (In the plural, because each federative unit has its police, and each has its special courses and specialties) and The Fire Brigade (They are also military, but their use is common to firefighters). The security support forces are the Civil Police (investigation), the Federal Highway Police and the Federal Police. The advantages of being in the armed forces, however it is more difficult to enter them, as the forces are more professional and all the others are more professional, requiring tests and tests to be able to join. The Brazilian Marine Corps is an arm of our navy, which is different from the United States. Another example is the divisions of force, because here in Brazil the cavalry encompasses its mechanized, aerial and motorized branches in a single weapon: the cavalry weapon. Same thing for infantry weapon, artillery, engineering and so on. Some interesting videos that you could use (which would be even more interesting than this one are): BEPI/CIOSAC: Military Police of the State of Pernambuco R.O.T.A: Military Police of the State of São Paulo COTAR: Military Police of the State of Ceará GATI: Itinerant Tactical Support Group - Military Police of Pernambuco Rotam: Metropolitan Ostensive Rounds - Military Police of the State of Goiás BOPE: Military Police of Rio de Janeiro Each police has its peculiarity, from the climate to the culture defines the style of performance and courses of each one. Some peculiar courses of Brazilian weapons (which deserve videos): CiOpC: Instruction and Operations Center in the Caatinga - Army Cigs: Training Center and Jungle Warfare - Army Pantanal: Operations in the Pantanal - Army Paratrooper Precursors Course - Army C.A.C - Command Actions Course - Army F.E - Special Forces Course - Army Comanf - Amphibious Commandos - Brazilian Navy Grumec - Brazilian Navy
