11:27 I served with him in Gaza, He is part of a special forces unit belonging to the engineering corps, called "YAHALOM" The frag did not explode in the doorway, it exploded at his feet, his legs were full of shrapnels. He continued to fight despite that, killing the second terrorist (realizing if he wont, he will be dead) after killing the second one there he collapsed, we evacuated him and he recovered well now. I was there deep in the fighting in Gaza, so if you have any questions feel free to ask

I saw an interview with the soldier in the last clip. the reason he was alone is that the team was on the bottom floor and got engaged by grenades and small arms, amidst the chaos he pushed to the top floor not noticing he was alone, and got in a fight without a chance to pull back to his team fighting on the bottom floor. the grenade blew up exactly at the doorway, he received a lot of shrapnel in his legs. and some to the upper body. he recalls after the grenade went off he thought that he was toast if he didn't get up and continue the fight since the backup wasn't close. adrenaline was pumping he got up and got rid of therat, later medevaced to an Israeli hospital. The dude is a reservist in the Israeli "yalaom" unit, an SF unit compared to the u.s combat engineers/EOD units. absolute beast. as an Israeli infantryman, I'm surprised that he was standing in this clip with the weight of his massive balls.

As a current combat idf soldier who was in combat up to not that long ago and was in one of the videos that are shows here I’d like to say that there’s a lot you don’t see. I’d like to point out the most important part that should be cleared, there is always cover from the air, and around, the combat is really difficult not only because of how Gaza is built, it’s difficult because there is so much units in a severely small ground space which also sadly creates a lot of friendly fire. But there is always cover from 360 degrees.

Litlle background of the second video. Its footage of 601 combat engineering brigade that im serving in right now. In the first seconds you can see my brigade captain(dont know how to say it right in eng) K.B (the one with helmet that got rails on it) the misson was to locate possible tunnels and eliminate them. This was pretty cleared area (cleared by Givati forces) so we wasnt able to use CQB like we learned(unable to open fire when entering),Good friend of mine, B.N entered first before the second commander (it was 2 armored personnel carriers there, each one of them has commander) B. got bullet in his head. Second commander eliminated the terrorist, but after a few seconds got bullet too,the third soldier eliminated the terrorist, and got hit in the shoulder. When we (The first carrier) arrived, only one enemy left, after elimination My commander(K. B) opened door and it was trapped,he got fragments in his lungs. We left with no commanders. Hope this was helpful, sorry for bad eng.

An interesting fact about the guy in the last video, he is a reservist in the Yehlam unit.. He was injured in most of his body from the grenade that the terrorist threw at him and still got up and continued to fight! He said in an interview from the hospital, "We arrive at an apartment building that is part of a Hamas combat complex, we understand this because I saw my duo start firing a barrage while he turned the other guys back. I come to advance in their direction and realize that I can't because there is shooting in his direction, terrorists are throwing grenades at us. I waited, there were several explosions, I go back out and then the first terrorist arrives. I launch a volley, the terrorist falls in my direction. I know they know I'm there and start maneuvering louder to give more fire. Another grenade arrives, I retreat to the same corner and an explosion happens and I realize that if I don't get out now or I continue to receive grenades or get shot... I spotted the second terrorist taking out another grenade, I throw a volley at him, realize that there is no other terrorist in the immediate vicinity and collapse. The legs stopped working. The guys catch me and start the evacuation process and here we are.' The fighter Yair Ben Shushan was among the first to witness the event and he was the one who cleared the fighter you see in the clip, wounded and bleeding. He says "This is one of the fastest evacuations that took place during the war. It was not caught. He's a crazy guy, don't know how he did it. I thought at first that maybe it wasn't the same fighter I evicted from the scene. The whole team was shocked." I hope I translated well from Hebrew. My English is not that good.

I remember about 10 years ago all of the war colleges and military think tanks were discussing how future warfare would move into the megacities. Now we're primarily seeing a lot of combat taking place in large dense urban environments. The discussions were interesting when it came to cyber warfare and drones. We're seeing new domains being integrated into the battlespace. It does make one wonder if near future warfare will involve mostly digital and cyber engagements with small units. Who knows but it's interesting to observe in it's development.

The intensity is almost the same, but of course there's a difference between fighting terrorists who are much better trained and armed than criminals, I mean, the drug dealer also has an Ak-47, but the terrorists also have RPGs and rockets.

Just for clarification, at 6:30 he says “don’t fire on the truck over there [around the corner]. If I tell you to retreat, pass me and we cover each other” Also, the smoke can come from either smoke grenades or a nearby tank that has been outfitted with smokescreen covers. The soldiers are shooting a lot as a form of suppressive fire, so every time you have an encounter it’s much better to shoot at any opening or walls and corners where they might be hidden behind, and move forward to close quarters contact. The video at 9:00 is the Yahalom elite combat engineering unit. They are on the same levels of combat training as Matkal, Shaldag, Duvdevan etc and regularly operate inside tunnels, deep insertion missions and highly sensitive explosive ordinance operations. So in terms of CQB they are definitely up there. He calls out “tango down!”

My CQB training was very different. The best way I could describe it was "cautious violence of action". Our instructors would put tripwires and booby traps connected to training grenades (the ones that just make a little puff of smoke for the non-military people) and I remember being so frustrated when you had the building almost completely clear, there was 1 room left and suddenly "puff", 1 simulated dead and 3 simulated wounded on a 6 man stack. Yeah you could say "but just toss a frag and be done with it", but you have to consider it's an urban center, there's a probability of civilians inside being used as human shields. Unless the intel told you "there's no civilians here, only enemies", some of the more creative recruits would just call anything with a .50 and tell the gunner "light that building up, just don't melt the barrel", same with a Mk19. Edit: Something I forgot. A group of us were sent to the US and train with the 82nd airborne and we practiced CQC, and noticed some of your guys had extremely potent flashlights, even during the day. I think I asked a staff sergeant or sergeant 1st class as to why and he told me "shine that in the face of the enemy" and me, being the dumbass I am, asked him if he would do it to me. Needless to say, it felt like trying to win a staring contest against the sun and when he turned it off, I couldn't see anything for a couple of seconds. I bought the same flashlight he had that same day.

It’s not worth anything when every terrorist stand behind children and eventually the soldiers don’t shoot,a lot soldiers die and injured in this situation. Israel also fights against lefties in the world and also inside Israel, they make sure Hamas get unlimited supplies when Israeli hostages don’t get medical treatment. it’s unfair when Israel fights in this condition and all that equipment it’s nothing if you can’t use it properly. Israel don’t even close to release the hostages or destroy Hamas which is the 2 main goals and we already see Israel try to finish this war because in US they said it’s enough, all the US military support not worth it if US decided to stop the war. Also about the difference in terms of military,Israel have the right to use the most advanced technology to destroy their enemies,Israel wasted their money to defend themselves and Hamas wasted his money for tunnels and rockets.

P.S - after eliminating the threat they took the Hammas terrorist's body cams and you can also have the POV of the other side aswell, very interesting to see. edit: my bad, first video is Lotar (counter terrorism) definitely a special unit by all means, just as a part of a bigger infantry at the same area. 2nd video (shaft): not much to show, just hammas again using highly populated areas to make sure they have human shields - preferably kids. 3rd video (hebrew): this is brigade 601 of the combat engineering corps, they are trained to be fighters but that's not in they're nature, decent fighters but not as trained as the previous 2. they excel in armored vehicles, exploding infrastructure, tunnels and using heavy mechanical equipment to reveal the surface and avoid explosive charges. in this video we dont see a front line fighting, can seem like theyre just shooting walls for no reason, but in that video the guys who went inside first had 1 casualty and 1 terrorist dead. the reason you see people moving with massive backpacks is thay some people went down thinking they're heading to a location where they will take a small rest, or have critical equipment in it - paramedics for example might prefer having all they're medical supplies and have others do the fighting. many soldiers dont have a armoured viechle following them nowadays to carey the rucksack. 4th video: in this video you see soldiers from the commando devision which has the units Maglan, Egoz, Duvdevan. these soldiers go through 16 months of training and should be much more trained conpared to the videos before, they are manuvering inside gaza by foot, thats why rucksack is always on the back, usually when u have real contact you just drop it and return to it (altough sometimes its dangerous to return to where you've been) out of the 3 Egoz and Maglan have many different capabilities outside of war, and Duvdevan is probably the more experienced unit when it comes to CQB. this u it operates a lot inside the west bank, also very dense and populates and arrest terrorists. usually have a lot of experience in this terrain and combat style. and as you said, seeing so many people so close actually annoys me aswell, but can't judge as i dont know whats waiting outside 5th video (1 vs 2 terrorists): Disclaimer: im a bit biased as i serve in the same unit. first of all about the video - This unit is Yahalom, SOEU - special operations engineering unit. this is the special forces of the engineering corps, 16 months of training which are known to be very rough, the unit has 3 sub units in it, Samur - tunnle specialists, they use very advanced technology and methods to investigate the tunnles and look for hostages, they're the only military force to ebter the tunnles in gaza (Sayeret matkal and Shaldag rarely does that aswell) Sayeret Yael - mainly operating in the north border with lebanon and syria, they specialise in creating a passage through minefields while remaining unnoticed, they are specialists when it comes to camouflage but information on this is kind of limited, they are the number one force when it comes to sabotaging buildings with exlosives, both precisely and with minimun time and materials. and ofcourse theres SAP (the guy in the video btw) which is the EOD - Explosive Ordance Disposal. they go in the front, they make sure the force doesn't go on an explosive charge, they detect, make sure to avoid and rarely when required disables it (but thats mainly in the movie guys, just avoid it ffs). they are great fighters overall. now to the 5th video: the situation and why he was alone is because they were a few guys in a staircase leading to the building, and a grenade was thrown at them, because many people had to go back he had no choice but to go to that terrace on his own or just get hit by the nade. you also have to remember he is EOD sent to another force which he is not used to work with organically, so he is pretty much always 'on his own' and only has 1 more EOD from his unit with him. he yelled "terrorist down" to let the others know that threat is reduced. he is pretty lucky that hammas grenades are not the best quality, and he got lucky with where he got hit. he had no choice but to go alone after the grenade as he was moments from being thrown more grenades at him or shoot him through the walls. this guy is insane, really shows what the guys in Yahalom are made of. insane guy, insane video - for those interested he's alive and well with minor injuries.

I wonder if the guy pushing thought they wont hear him coming because of the frag earlier or just had to gamble because of injuries. Shows you sometimes the illogical move is the best against inexperienced fighters.

What Hamas threw at him is something like a pipe bomb. Also the IDF soldier is on the balcony, there's not enough space for him to move back. After the explosion The Hamas terrorist then emptied his mag randomly shooting at the door in front of him, and he pulled out a pistol and fired once before getting shot multiple times.

What is even more difficult in this war is that there are Israeli hostages in the homes of Hamas members and also Palestinians who are hiding in them and the IDF has to fight carefully

Two points: The second movie is not SOF but Combat Engineering Infantry Regiment 601. The last movie is an IDF SOF. He takes down the first terrorist (the frame stops, and there is a circle of terrorists on the ground) Then, a second terrorist throws a grenade and gets killed.
