Even when the video is about gear I don't have, I still feel like I can learn some concepts. Nice to have content out there that's real, not just a sales pitch for a product.

How is the sound quality for the DSP and crossover built in compared to drive rack DBX ? can you pass up the drive rack and use the built in crossover without any degradation in sound quality for line array as bi amp or tri amp ?
@stageleftaudio4 жыл бұрын
We haven't noticed any sound quality issues with the buil-in DSP. It "sounds" the same as the DBX drive rack (and most any other DSP); though, this was all during testing of the PLD amps. We do not use the crossover in the amps for production events. We use the PLD amps for monitors 95% of the time (full-range with a roll off around 65hz). The remaining 5% of usage is for the occasional sub duty, using a driverack for xover. We use powered cabinets for our line array. The DBX drive rack is preferred due to the ease of changing the xover freq. and slope as needed. There would be too much time involved with changing settings with the QSCs. The GUI interface built into the PLDs (via a PC) would be a great help, though, we don't use the amps in that type of capacity.

@stageleftaudio Can you safely tune crossover points while music is playing?
@stageleftaudio4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure. We have never needed to use the on-board crossover. I don't see any reason why someone could not tune it while it is passing a signal.

I'm looking to use only 2 channel outputs.. I also only have 2 channels to use from my mixer. It doesn't say which inputs are used for bridge mode out of the 4 so where would I plug them?
@stageleftaudio3 жыл бұрын
Any of the inputs should be able to be used. Take a look at the manual... it will give you a much better idea of how to setup the amp to for bridging. The PLD amps are great and can be configured in numerous ways; the QSC manual(s) that cover that amp go way beyond what could be typed here for instructions! I recommend starting with the manual.

After the amp is reconfigured, it does not need to be turned off... it is ready to go.

nice amp but not reliable, I got 3 PLD 4.5 2 have an issue with the PSU 😔
@stageleftaudio2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about the issues. I recall hearing about some issues with the PLD line. Though, I thought the issues were resolved with firmware. Make sure you are at the current version. We have 4 x PLD 4.2 amps (mostly used for monitors); never had any issues. They've been solid. If you are still having problems, you may want to contact QSC support. They are great to work with.

@@stageleftaudio I tried contacting QSC support, but unfortunately I am from Philippines, the local dealer here is not as good in your country. 😔

Maybe do a run thru or rehearsal before making a video...if you're really trying to teach. All over the map is just confusing.
