Marie is a tough taskmaster; she keeps pressing her team to lower their scores: "There is nothing you would change? Everything was perfect ... interesting." For me, The Otter Team exhibited kindness, fair play, and accommodated their menu with the preferences of their guests in mind. Team Otter for the win!

So true, Stephanie and Phillip took the time and effort to make sure the correct ingredients were used. That took thoughtfulness and visa versa. Stephanie was generous in giving extra points. Ok... So reading some of the comments, I just wanted to say.... This was a couple of fun evenings for a group of friends, with light hearted fun. Nothing more. Absolutely no need for viewers to judge anything or anyone. Who won, was never the point. Don't forget, we are very graciously allowed to enjoy a little glimpse of it all, and maybe steal the idea for some fun evenings with our own friends and familys, when things get more normal. The only thing, negative comments will achieve, is that "we" probably won't be invited next time, there is something fun planned.

Hope you all had great fun and only have fond memories of this event. It's easy to let resentment and comments ruin something that was meant to bring fun and enjoyment for all. Team Lalande thank you for opening up part of your lives and personalities with us. With that comes great praise at times and sometimes not so pleasant opinions at other times. I think you all did fantastic. I'm very competitive by nature. If someone judged me solely in a moment of a fierce game of musical chair, well I'm afraid they would think I'm a shark!!! 😂🤣😂 I like the idea of winning while I'm playing ( I mean you play to win right😂), but the moment the game is over I could care less who won or lost. My favorite part of the competition was everyone going over the scores. Light-hearted needling and wheedling from each team shows that you can be competitive, enjoy the process, and still have fun in that competition. Yes! It does seem like some may take it more seriously, but we all probably have family or friends that are competitive--it just means we will try harder the next time we compete against them!❤️❤️❤️ Loved it!

Absolutely! Aren't there ground rules of respect and privacy? These work-aways are given room and board as part of their compensation. I would think they would be respectful of each others belongings. Bottom-line, someone didn't care as long as she didn't have to cook for a week and the whole reason for the challenge.
@mparker6823
@mparker6823 3 жыл бұрын
@ Nancy LaPonzina that is very harsh. "These WorkAways" as you put it, ARE LaLande. Without Team LaLande, what on earth do you think you'd even be watching on the vlogs? There would be no Chateau Diaries because there would be no LaLande. And often there's more to the story then we see, because as Natie just pointed out in the above comment, she was the one who found and purchased the candlesticks at the charity shop, so if you were going to stick with your original accusation that they should not be taking other's private property, then Phillip would be the one who took Natie's property for use in The Otters dinner. Obviously LaLande have a communial way of life and share most things communially, so he didn't illicitly take anything. I am a very gentle and mild person, but I realize that it's time we all started respectfully pointing out to each other what Trolling actually is and when others have engaged in it, and your comments fall under the category of Trolling. I respectfully urge you to think before writing.

I enjoyed watching the meal preparation and the actual dinner presentations. But in my opinion, the scoring took all the fun out of what first seemed like fun. I found myself thinking the prize of not cooking for the week could be used as a reason to be harsh in scoring. I think the prize should be something like a funny trophy that gets passed to the next winners. And judging by someone impartial, as in not in either group.

I really miss entertaining since Covid came along but watching this today reminded me of how difficult it is to host these days with everyone's allergies, preferences, veganism, pescatarians, dairy free food, gluten free ingredients, tee totallers that need a mocktail, desserts with no sugar, calories, etc. and no tolerance for raisins (that's me). Luckily I am one of the few in my group of friends that likes to entertain especially since I have a place and table big enough to fit them all so they are just happy to be invited and partake. Let us not forget in the end the best part of an evening out is also the company of friends and the wonderful conversations that should ensue (a tango or waltz isn't too shabby either). That said both meals looked like Michelin grade dinners, both had beautiful ambience and presentations. I would have been grateful to have been at either meal. And may I add, a life well lived is the best revenge LaLanders! ;)

I have been reading through the comments, and I am surprised how some people are being so critical of the judging. I think most of it is tongue in cheek, and they’re all just having fun with each other. The fact that some judged a little harsher made it really fun! They’re all such close friends, and it’s fun to take little innocent jabs once in a while. All of the scores, overall, were really very good! I don’t think anyone should be looked differently from the way they scored their friends’ meals. Don’t make them regret trying something different and putting themselves out there. I so enjoyed this content!! If everybody received a 10, it would be so boring.

It was nice to get the results. However, I did not like Marie's attitude when they started to judge, the way she talked and act it was like she was trying to influence the others ; she is a all sweet person when talking but .... but she has a side that we dont know much of but she did give a glimpse of it in this episode . Also it is not because one does not like an ingredient in a dish that the dish is not good. For example : if I dont like chocolate cake and i am serve one piece, of course it makes ie harder to judge, but.. it is not the fault of the cook if I am not a lover of chocolate. Therefore, if I want to be fair as a judge, I will give point for the presentation of the plate, the decor of the cake, the texture, etc. I sure will not take off points because i dont enjoy chocolate. I am glad that Mandy was nice and she was pointing to the others really positive things. I think a big winner is us - the viewers as we got to discover a little bit of the personality of the participants, a side that we did not know. Of course, Stephanie and Philippe you guys were fantastic taking the remarks and comments in with a smile !

Actually they all know each other's tastes -- remember all the jokes about Philips allergies, and raisins are a hot topic in their daily cooking too. So to make a dish with raisins when you know the diners have an aversion is not good strategy. In the actual game, hosts were given points for cooking to consider the guests' quirks and allergies.
