Oh my Dear Brother Halverson, You have paid it forward 100 fold!! I also OFTEN thank Heavenly Father for so many wonderful teachers and you are at the TOP of that list. I'm always telling people that no one explains, makes applicable and brings to life the scriptures like you do!! I am forever grateful to you because my heart is becoming softer, more true, more desirous to BE a disciple through your excellent teaching. Surely God hads given you a rare gift and I think this gift was granted at least in part because of YOUR pure heart, your honest desire to live in Him and your willingness to pay the price! My prayers are always with you, for all that you and your family need. The time you take to give us these videos is NO SMALL SACRIFICE - they are a gift from ALL your family. Please hug them for me ❤

And you continue to be the light to us and a guide for us to understand our scripture studies, making it more lively and so interesting to read following your highlighted and colorful quotes from the scriptures . . .

I have been struggling with balance in my life. I love the principles of proven contraries, the 'Goldilocks' zone' and the swinging of the pendulum. Thank you for teaching about anger, an emotion I have struggled with around my family. I agree with you that missionaries are as close "to meeting Christ". Thank you for the spiritual education for this week. ☺

Brother Halverson, thank you for another excellent walk through Come, Follow Me. An additional benefit of a shield, especially during Greco-Roman times is that my shield mainly covers my fellow warrior to my left. My companion to my right covers me with his shield. As we work to support each other in our journey back to Christ and Heavenly Father we are stronger than anyone attempting to stand alone and fight the adversary.

I commented at the begini g if this lesson and can't help but giving another. This is truly one of the BEST episodes you've done! I learned SO much and better understood many parts I thought I had a decent understanding of. You articulated EXACTLY what I've been feeling about the "speaking truth in love " contrary, wondering how I was going to share it but now I know. Every "chapter" of this episode had multiple ahah gems! Oh Dear Jared, how can I thank you enough??! .... well, I suppose the same way you taught about honoring our parents....through honoring and loving Christ 😊❤

I love your discussion on the need for emotions, even the ones that seem to be bad or sinful. Your advice on talking with the emotion and getting the information from it, then deciding what to do with that information is exactly what I have been taught to do with sexual urges like the urge to look at pornography, and it has made a huge difference. I try to figure out where the urge is coming from without giving into the urge itself. It’s helped me bridle my passions. It’s something that takes practice, but practice makes perfect. And that’s what life is for. Practicing becoming like Christ, our perfect example.

54:50 I'm SO glad you brought up Jesus cleansing the temple! That was exactly where I wanted to go. Once again He is the perfect example. He cleanses the temple and then goes and heals the lame and the blind. I think that's a good rubric, if you can give blessings and do service immediately after being angry, then you're doing pretty good. Matt 21:12-14 12 ¶ And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. 14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them. I graduated in early childhood education, and so I typically worked with the kids in K-3rd grade. What I always told them is that everyone feels angry sometimes, it's part of being alive. It's what we DO when we're angry that matters. Once I notice I'm getting upset, I try to get by myself as soon as possible. (Typically that looks like me dashing to the bathroom to do some deep breathing [and crying] until I feel more in control. I remember reading in the New Era 100 years ago that said something to the effect of words are one of the things you can never get back. Aka from President Nelson, don't throw scalpels! 😂

In the part where he talks about masters and servants, I liken this to employers and employees. It has always helped me to do my very best for who I work for and consequently I have been treated with great respect. I also agree with you 100% regarding the husband and wife. I’ve always read this section with that same feeling that what wife wouldn’t want to submit herself to her husband if he were the representative of the Lord.

So crazy that you talked about the movie, “Inside out”! My husband has used this movie to explain to me how sadness does have a place at times. I’m like you! My husband tells me that I am “Joy” from the movie. But that I need to recognize that not all people are like me. Most really do have moments (or more) of sadness, and that’s ok! I tend to lean towards “Happiness is the object and design of our existence”, and happiness seems to come easy to me. My Mother is always happy, and I love her joyful disposition. However, I suppose that sadness actually does have a place in our lives.❤❤

Something about the SHIELD being made of faith... it's the only item listed that can be used to protect others. The FAITH of mothers, fathers, children, siblings, aunts, uncle, etc. can shield their loved ones as they are working to build or rebuild their own armor.

Thank you Bro Halverson, I have been listening, watching, praying and studying with you for a long time. I was prompted to subscribe even though I am not happy that google knows. Let me relate an experience I had. While sleeping I dream/experience where I was sitting in a chair and dared Satan that there was nothing he could do to shake my faith. I was physically attacked struggling for breath. I prayed for help in the name of Jesus Christ. Immediately I was released and I could see an army all in white coming to rescue me. When I then woke my husband he could see the handprints around my neck which lasted several days. We both know staying close to our Heavenly Father and reaching out for help will come. I personally do not plan to do a challenge like that again but knowledge that help is only a prayer away helps. Hope this comment helps whoever needs it. I testify it is true in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

Now "faith" is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Heb. 11:1 The substance is not the garment, the substance "of things", and "evidence of "things" not seen is the witness of the Holy Ghost that gives the assurance and protection as a fire , both as cleansing power and an encircling protecting power, the garment is the token of the faith. Although mentioned as a shield and a protector, only in the respect that it brings to the mind the covenant and promise attached to those who are worthy for there be many who have deceased wearing garments who are both worthy and unworthy but to those who have been worthy receive the greater reward.

Having to use my sister's phone and it's been a new trying things out week, but I don't really mind as long as I can continue to pray to God and his guidance and what he wants me to do each day ❤️ Thank you for sharing your insights and family stories and teaching stories. I love helping others with all the different classes in our Church and just giving them different things,if one can't use it they will give what ever to other classes ❤️ I believe as we go through things we have trials, some pains and other times really get books and Rose Bushes,or the things you really need. Having people come into your life for a while, seasons,or you stay in touch with them forever.❤️💌 My experience with our Church is we continue to learn, grow in knowledge. Some are new members, born in the church families long lines. And I love the oneness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later -day Saints Had people tell me since I have come to understand the whole truth, I will never be able to go anywhere else because I'm home now. In thinking about honoring parents who are not really worthy of our honor...one way we can honor them is by being the best we can be so that when others see our actions they will think that our parents must have been great and noble and to never do anything which will bring our parents any dishonor or give our parents a bad name.

Yes There is a place for anger. If we understand that frustration is the first level of anger and If we see level 10 Anger, at the insane level of The Hulk, as the highest level, then can we say there are a times and places for anger? If we take a page from Traditional Chinese Medicine, anger is the emotion or energy of the Wood element. The purpose of the Wood element is motivation through inspiration. It is the work of the Holy Ghost. When we do like Jesus Christ, and find a way to use this frustration energy to cleanse the temple of our body without doing harm, so that no charge can be brought against us, then we can fuel the fire that removes the old ways, burning them in joy and hope for a greater day, a better life, a life we aspire for. And we can also use that Wood to light a Fire that inspires others to also live by faith.

1:14:25 Stand is an interesting symbol in this case because standing is the epitome of proving contraries. Each muscle in our toes and feet all the way up to the base of the skull have to in constant tension with its opposite muscle in order to remain upright. If you want to show an example try standing on one foot and you can feel the muscles constantly flexing and relaxing to keep up upright.

Jared, would you mind doing a series of videos called proving the contrary? I would love to have a reference for people who ask is God real? did Jesus resurrect? every time you have a section in your video where you are proving a contrary, can you clip that and give it a title and put it in a playlist? It would be an incredible resource to be able to pull up those videos when needed. it is an amazing concept, and it would help with determining truth instead of going along with social assumptions.

In chapter 4 verse 13 your friend mentioned the word ( until ) in the verse. The verse is right ( until ) all these things happen and they are not fulfilled yet. (Until) will be fulfilled when we leave this world or (until) the coming of Christ.( Until ) Christ Reigns for a Thousand Years.. what your friend was trying to teach you is a way to manipulate words in the scriptures and that's what some preachers do. Making a word twist and turn upside down from left to right and see if we can make another definition of that word.

Anchor is no good however you look at it and this emotion does not need to enter your mind. Anger destroys and kills a person mentally or physically. Jesus was not angry, just making a point with a forceful attitude. A forceful attitude is not hard because you're in control at all times even having the spirit with you. The spirit will help direct your words even the tone of your words and expressions. When you have the spirit with you, you are not angry at all. The spirit can never mixed with anger. It's just like pouring oil in a glass of water, it has to separate itself from the other. You will lose the spirit if you get angry or mad even your way to handle things properly. Like Jared said before, even Christ. Anger invites the unworthy intent in and you can't always control evil. Anger harms children all the time one way or the other.😩😖😳🙏prayers & thankness can get rid of anger😊you begin to look at things differently.

I was scared that God may anger to me because I became overly angry when I found out that my sons best friends step father sexually assaulted my son I was so angry I could have taken steps to hell and killed this man and probably would have but my husband stopped me in the moment I went to the police station instead at 2 am and filed a police report he ended up with a life sentence and a record forever. He only served 3 years of his life sentence. And I might even have to stop myself today if he where to step in front of my moving vehicle. A mother I think has a right to hold the grudge against the evilest of people the ones who hurt her children the children that God in trusted her to protect and love. I know God will forgive whom he will forgive and forgiveness is for me to give but that anger is almost certainly not something this human is capable of only God has that ability to forgive if he even he would forgive. So if hurting his child in such a horrible way is something not forgivable by God then why would God ask me his I imperfect daughter to something not even he is going to do.????
