I am behind as usual but I am still here with you. I’m so grateful that through your kindness, dedication, the love for teaching and your knowledge of the things you are teaching plus testimony and above all your love for the gospel and our Saviour, you are helping me grow and better prepare for our Saviours return. I thank Heavenly Father for you! May you and your family be blessed always.

I took a moment after your discourse on Christ being the singular seed of Abraham (which was particularly impactful after having gone to the temple yesterday). I took a moment to thank God for that beautiful doctrinal connection. I thanked him for putting it there. And he 😊😢[we need a happy crying emoji that doesn't look like laughing]... he said "i put it in there for YOU." I retorted "it couldn't be for me alone". To which God said "yes, but i made sure it was there for you and those like you who would appreciate it." Then the concluding thought: "There are things in the gospel for everyone. That all may find joy therein." God doesn't want any of us feeling left out. 😃😊

I ve been a member of the Church my whole life, and I graduated BYU, which means I minored in religion, and.....I never knew grace was part of our religion until your deep dive into these scriptures. I thought it was just part of evangelism/born again. I feel so much better understanding grace/ faith now . Thank u for explaining all this Finally. Better late than never, and, it's just really important at this time in my life. So extra Tk u for this lesson in particular. It's Life changing.

I’m the one who told you that I was in the MTC with you.😊 I said I was sort of bugged by you then. That was my pride. I could tell that you were soooo excited to be there. You were full of joy, and enthusiasm!! I didn’t understand it at that time, but I did once I got out into the field! I also want you to know how grateful I am to be able to study the scriptures each week with somebody who loves the Lord, and the scriptures as much as you do. You are a wonderful example to us all!! Thank you for your faithfulness, and diligence and knowledge. Thank you for teaching us about the true love of Christ. I sure hope that my kids can take classes from you!

Brother Halverson, this lesson may me think about my early days as a convert. I joined the church when l was a very strong Catholic member. The day l was baptized l was supposed to tell the missionaries l couldnt see them anymore and instead l joined the church. I had zero idea l was going to get baptized that day. I am laughing because l remember that even though l was now part of the church, l would still do things that Catholics do. It was a process for me. I would still say my regular memorized prayers and do the cross sign (me persignaba. l still love the Catholic church and many things they do such as : dar la paz y el Dia de Palmas. I learned to love my Savior as a Catholic, so l am grateful for what l learned as a Catholic. I also remember being recently married and telling my husband l wanted to keep going to the singles ward together. LOL Its hard to move on when you love things so much. So l understand the early Jews. Again, thanks again to you and your family for your sacrifice of time. I also tell people l know are going to BYU, that they need to take your classes! I cant wait for my daughter to go there someday. I will start praying for that now!

I loved listening while alone in the back of the cathedrals, to the Latin masses and requiems that were sung. Many in the congregation I perceived, had a love for Jesus Christ and were good and sincere people, just missing the parts about ordinances, doctrine and authority. Most of my early friends were Roman Catholic. My mother was Seventh Day Adventist. My mom also loved music so she attended many Pentecostal churches for the music. We lived about 20 miles from the home birthplace of Ellen G White and about two hours drive to Joseph Smiths birthplace in Sharon Vermont. I learned at a very young age how people could not discern between emotion and Spirit promptings and many were on the path driven by sincere emotions but lacking the Spirit of conviction and true doctrinal understanding and witness that comes through the Holy Ghost. Most churches today have band instruments to stoke of the spirit of fervor and emotions while drowning out the still small voice. My father a convert to the church in 1929 at the age of 25 and in that same year became blind yet lived to be 100. The 75 years of blindness did not diminish the light of the gospel, although blind in the flesh, acquired (spiritual eyes) like unto Urim and Thummim and tutored myself, his son in the ways of truth and life everlasting. For I was blind but he guided in the light.

Thank you, Brother Halverson. Once again, your explanation is making the scriptures less intimidating and crystal clear. I am grateful for the experiences you share with us from your mission and before your mission. It was a beautiful, sanctifying experience with you and our Heavenly Father, opening your mission call. Please don't spread yourself too thin. President Nelson stated a few years ago to take our vitamin pills and get our rest and now I know why. May God bless you and your family!

I am an institute teacher teaching the New Testament. I listen intensely for every video. Thx. Comically I had to stop listening after the first 5 verses in Galatians 3. I just couldn’t listen to anymore law vs grace. I had a ittle laugh and moved to the next video. I couldn’t teach the students another lesson of law & grace, as it’s not a current need. But still fascinating.

thank you for explaining the proper response to the anathema accusations. I pointed to Moses in The Pearl of Great Price and said we know all about that and agree with you that the Devil transforms himself and pretends to both angel and even God. But that his light is darkness unto us.

One comment about raising the bar of ministering - when teaching something new (that's built on prior knowledge), it is going to be hard and a lot of the students are going to fall short. How do you overcome this? By sticking to it and practicing regularly. As we do that, the new and difficult will eventually turn into the old and easy. At that point, we will be introduced to another new thing 😜

1:58:50 Proving contrary. I like that he used the word "in" instead of "through". Once we have faith, we can find life and salvation by living "in" obedience to the commandments but not "through" obeying the commandments

Well, I guess there will be no sleep for me, lols, and yes, you are a busy bee, lols. I just love these lessons, and I promote these videos, lols. I don't get ministered period, I keep up with my ladies, I just don't get visited by the Priesthood, and I am not going to beg either, I like the old way lols, sometimes I wonder if Heavenly Father is testing us on this calling of ministering. I call it the whoville every one is trying to get things done when we had Home Teaching and Visiting Teaching lols. Not sure this makes sense.

It is of a truth, that if those who in past times did not "Home Teach", the name change to "Ministering" , in most cases will not alter their attitudes even though they have the capability to change, hereunto the Lord will say, inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these ye have done it unto me.

@@freespirit5105 The Saviour is your greatest friend and ministers to you, so when times of solitude and eventide hours fall, remember He looks over all and though that silent empty chair creaks no more from a loving friend, in your room He will send, His Comforter, whose assurances you can depend. PS your cats fill an important place in your space and although they whisper not a word, sometimes its the token of love that needs not to be heard

I do treat people differently in public settings than in private settings. I try to treat money 💰 differently in private than in public. That may make me odd, but I don't think it is wise to be too casual about everything and every one in public. Fortunately, many people I know well believe they should protect privacy and be have differently in public to protect themselves and their fellow children of God. PETER was honoring the guests from Jeeusalem with greater hospitality than he honored the residents of the community. He was being PETER.

Fact: No one alive today was redeemed from the curse of the law. Heres why: The law was only given to old Covenant Israel and has not existed for nearly two thousand years. You were never "under the works of the law" or "under the curse of the law". You were not "kept under the law". It was never your "schoolmaster". Why not? It doesn't exist. Three questions that debunk modern Christianity: *Were you ever part of the Old Covenant that Moses mediated? *Were you born under and subject to the Mosaic law? *Did Christ redeem you from the curse of the law that Paul is referring to in Galatians 3?

Chapter 3 here in Galatians is not a chapter of import. We have been bludgeon with the law & grace already. Just another chptr for Jewish folks. It’s not something we deal with. Not your fault.

I can definitely see where you're coming from as far as the immediate context is concerned. but scripture was never meant to be confined to immediate context. As long as Latter-day Saints continue to struggle with toxic perfectionism and scrupulosity, this will continue to be something we deal with! I'd say that makes this a chapter of import!
