Every week I read the Standard KJV and listen to what the Holy Ghost wants to teach me. Next, I read McConkie's NT Commentary. Then I read NLT Study Bible and The Message Bible. Now, I'm going to add ESV study Bible. Finally, I listen to you two. Never before have I delved so deeply into the New Testament, although I've read it dozens of times. This time, however, it's as if eternity depends on it. Studying with my mom (77), who is a non-practicing Christian, I feel such a sense of urgency, obligation, and responsibility. Thank you for your very positive videos that help me tie all my studies together. I feel confident leading our discussions and have seen Mom change her ideas and commitment to Jesus slowly over these last few months. Again, thank you for helping me to present the gospel of Jesus Christ in the way of love. I see Jesus as loving, gentle, kind, and forgiving instead of the vengeful God that so many others paint Him to be. Thank you, again, so very much.

I can’t believe this was filmed before general conference because Emily’s comments about asking God what we need to be doing and David’s quote about being available was right in line with what President Nelson talked about in the women’s session. Talk about being inspired! I have chills!!

Wow. Every key point in this was exactly what I needed right now at this moment in my current circumstance. This felt so personal. I literally got real time, taylor-maid direction for me, today, from these chapters and from the points you highlighted. Thank you. I feel like I just heard the voice of God telling me exactly what I need to know.

I always love these videos so much! Thank you for taking the time to make them. Over the past year and a half I have been learning about the laws of creation, I understand what you mean by saying letting God do what he wants with our lives, but sometimes unless people know what it means to have true faith, which is active, then this can leave people stagnant and unmoving. Just like Emily's son who set his intention and desire to play football, I think that our Heavenly Father is pleased when we strive to be like Him. And who is He? The Master Creator. He knows how create joy, purpose and abundance and I feel he is super pleased with us when we strive to create as well. I think there is immense value in making plans, setting our intentions but also holding anticipation for the result rather than expectation. Anticipation is focusing on what we hope to feel or learn and not expecting that it must look like XYZ. When I am mentoring people I always compel them to focus on the what and let God worry about the how. When I started my journey last year and chose to be an active creator and participant in my life to create a life that uses my best skills, talents and desires I could just hear heaven saying "Thank you so much for trying! I am so please with your effort, but now I would like to offer this, can we go this direction?" But he will not violate our will, our freedom to choose, and choosing to create or make plans and step forward with faith is showing that we are willing to act and He will then work that if we let Him and he will like Emily said direct our paths and make them even more than we could have ever hoped for.

Thank you so much for your spiritual prayer and preparation so we may feel the spirit and lift some of our harder days. Also, I think I need to designate one of my candles as a prayer candle. I might start to associate it's scent, too, as a reminder to pray!

I double checked the reference he quoted from The Message Bible in Philippians and it’s the same. Hope that helps!

I LOVE this so much!! My only "problem" with this concept of the Elected team/Chosen team... What about the people that are NOT chosen.... Why would God leave them out? Isn't it interesting how we like to feel like we are a part of this something big, special in the God's eyes? I feel like it's so exclusive.... I am really trying to understand this concept because sometimes I feel like my faith is shaken and it's sad. If we play the game of gathering Israel (we are in this team), what's the team/game that God gave to His other children? I am really not criticizing this video or the church, as I mentioned before, I truly love it... Just this concept is so hard for me to grasp. :(

That's just it! God does not leave anyone out. We are choosing to be chosen. It would not be in the nature of God who gave us a perfect Savior, his only begotten son, to give us the gift of repentance, the gift of becoming the chosen. God chose all of us when he chose Christ. We all have the opportunity, we all have the gift of the atonement. So The Gospel of Christ is just as much personal to each of us, as it is all encompassing to humanity.

The team and game God gives to others is simply different. For some it's to be a good person. For some it's to be a good parent. A good Catholic, a good vet, a good neighbor, a good friend. I do a lot better in my anxiety worrying about my own testimony and my own standing with God, and feeling his love for me despite my mistakes and short comings. I have a lot more faith that he's taking care of all his children, when I see how he's taking care of my faulty self. It's good to worry about and love our fellow man! Empathy is such a wonderful trait you obviously have! My testimony is that God loves everyone perfectly in ways I can't entirely comprehend.

I think that's its important to remember that everyone was chosen for something. Other people were chosen for their strength for different times. No one was excluded, anyone who wanted to come you earth gets to come to earth. All of us have strengths and weaknesses, ours are for this time. But no one is being excluded from God's blessings.

Love your videos. Regarding one of your first comments about Philippians, you stated that Paul never visited Philippi, but always sent others to take his message. Please see Acts 16:7-40, specifically verse 12 where Paul goes to Philippi which is a part of Macedonia. Verse 9 tells of a vision he had and of being told to go to Macedonia. While there he baptized Lydia who happened to be the first Christian to be baptized in Europe.

So I dabbled in Neuro linguistic Programming. Part of what I learned from Dr. Judith A. Swack is that, many of us ignore negative words. Try telling a child "Don't do that." See what happens. US adults are children inside. We will do the same thing. I wonder if you could experiment with putting 2 videos up every week...As an experiment. One "Don't miss this!" And then the same video ""Come Follow Me" do it for a while and see which videos get more hits.
