Hi friends! 😍 Come with me to my horse riding lesson! In today's lesson I get to jump Filo for the very first time! Filo is one of my favourite lesson horses and I've been looking forward to the day that I get to jump him! This horse riding vlog is a GoPro horse jumping lesson for beginners! I am still very new to jumping, so follow along my journey! ❤️

Oh!! Im so happy that your riding instructor is teaching you how to bend your horse in the corners!It's often forgotten by riding facilities but for example in dressage competitions, especially in low classes you can win by proper bending as there are almost only circles :))

i always look forward to watching your videos! ❤ i’ve been riding for around 7 years now but don’t feel like i’ve been improving much, and your videos have made me realise that i need to switch barns. you have an amazing instructor that pays attention to little details and that is very important when it comes to riding horses. i rarely ever get to saddle horses up or take care of them, and these videos make me more aware of what i’m missing

And awww yes I think you should switch somewhere that allows you to tack up, there’s so much more to horses than just riding and I think it’s important but everyone to learn basic horse care and how to handle horses if you’re going to be around them!

I'm not a vet, but the way he was biting while you were cinching him up is one sign of ulcers. I know you just take lessons, and he's not yours, but I just wanted to mention it. Might be worth it to get him checked. ❤ (Yes, some horses get this way because they don't like the cinch. If they are cinchy, it's because it was tightened way too fast too many times.)

Horses show signs of ulcers by biting by the girth, refusing to move, bucking and touching the riders leg he’s probably just a girthy horse

Maybe but I ride a horse who just doesn’t like having her girth done up, my riding school says she has done it since she started having a saddle in her 💙 (no hate tho)

I don’t think so, my barn has a lot of girthy horses just from lesson kids not doing it gently. He wasn’t that mad he just threw his head a bit 🤷‍♀️

Not always, one horse at my barn bites because he’s just like that. He’s been checked by the vet lots of times and that’s just his personality

I find that you’re now anticipating that Filo is going to swerve away from the corner after the jump, so you started jumping the cross rail on the highest part closer to the standard on the left, which is what I believe made him turn away from the jump. Just a little habit that I found :) anyways, you’re doing so well!! Have you jumped on Daisy yet?

Yes that’s definitely something I noticed too after watching my lesson back and I’ll try to keep in mind for next time I ride him!! ☺️ tysm! I did jump her but I didn’t end up vlogging that lesson!!

I love filo so much and I can remember you saying how much fun he would be to jump! I love being able to see ur improvement every week it’s so cool! I also love that your barn lets you groom and tack up instead of them being done for you! Also I have a whole long paragraph about my ride that I wanted to share with you 💙 I was on a horse or pony (idk I’ll say horse) called Tate, I have never ridden him before and he came from travellers last year! In trot we did lots of 20 metre circles, transitions to halt and halt to trot, and some serpentines with him! His trot is super smooth and nice but his canter is 😭 but I sat it well even though there were some times when I was gonna fall lol! But he super fun to ride! I also did my first canter as a whole ride and he is so strong and I couldn’t control him bc he was trying to keep up to the horse in front! Also I did not hold my saddle at all in canter ! Even though sometimes I did grab his mane in that speedy canter lol 😭 he is super to ride tho I love him and hope I can ride him again because I feel like we clicked really quickly 💙💙 but I can’t ride my heart horse anymore since I’m too tall for her 😢 But I love your ride and I’m glad you can jump because I know how long you’ve been waiting for this 💗

Omg that’s so exciting getting to ride a new horse for the first time! 😍 he reminds me of Rolo!! Lovely trot but the canter is deadly 😂 he’s also very strong and hard to control! If you continue to ride him tho I’m sure in no time you’ll be super confident with his canter ! And if you can sit his canter you can sit anyone’s 😉 but yaayyy it sounds like you had a really good lesson and I’m so proud of you !! Keep up the good work ❤️❤️

Omg 😂 here’s a tip for a horse that nips when the saddle and girth are getting put on! Pull lead rope lightly and boop there forehead 😊

You did so good Clara!! Seeing strides is very hard in the beginning but it gets a lot easier! Watching your videos every Saturday is the highlight of my week! I always look forward to watching you! I really can’t wait until you start jumping courses and possibly doing jumping in shows!! You are such an amazing rider and you are going so great! I can’t wait to see where you go from here in your jumping but whatever you do whether it is just jumping a bit smaller jumps (like xrails or small verticals) or jumping bigger (like 2ft or 3ft) you are going to do AMAZING! Keep up the good riding ♥️😊

Filo is part Clydesdale and part Arabian! He’s an interesting mix. Sorry I’m not sure what bridle he’s wearing ! It’s a nice on tho :)

Hi Clara, i just wanted to know how old are u?/how old were u when u started? i always wanted to ride and i might only be able to do it when im older (22yo~) basically when i finish my studies and start working… idk it feels like maybe i will be too old, but i cant do it rn so.. better later than never? lol!

Hey !! In my opinion you’re never too old to start riding, I didn’t start until I was 24 and I’m 26 now! It was the best decision I’ve ever made, doesn’t matter your age! You’re never too old to learn a new skill or start a new hobby 😇

Yesterday i was on an lesson riding an horse named clyde he is an very good boy and i was cqntering for the first time but when i was doing the sitting trot my stirups weer quiet shirt so i started to fall off but clyde stoped and i was hanging there for a few seconds but yhen i just kinda droped down and i was laighing but my neck hurts😂
