Similar circumstances here except mine was in banking. I had people looking at me like I was crazy walking away from my career and I had some that encouraged me and wanted to do the same and some have found a way to do it too! I have embraced my time at home and being a housewife has made me so happy! My kids and hubby are much happier having me home too and I am so glad I listened to my gut on leaving! We have found a way to make it all work and I am forever grateful. I am Loving that mundane life too Misis H! Happy for you!

9 years ago I left my job and became nanny. I am also a single mom of five wonderful adults now and grandmother to 7 gorgeous children. I just turned 60 this past December. On my last years before I retired to the Dominican Republic to read all the books I haven't read and enjoy my home there and grow an orchard. Now all the kids that I nanny are in school and I have taken over the care of the home. I love my job and nothing gives me more pleasure right now that when my boss comes home to a beautiful clean organized home. Enjoy your gift of caring for your family. With all of this that is going on with covid and OMICRON I am greatful to have this wonderful job that keeps me busy and giving back. Warm Dominican hugs from NYC

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a beautiful day. Here are some special little snippets from this week at the cottage ❤️ Thank you so much for your orders on my shop, it means the world and really helps me keep making videos. MY ETSY SHOP 🦊 🍄 www.etsy.com/shop/thecottagefairyart Thank you for the support! “So the tree rustles in the evening, when we stand uneasy before our own childish thoughts: Trees have long thoughts, long-breathing and restful, just as they have longer lives than ours. They are wiser than we are, as long as we do not listen to them. But when we have learned how to listen to trees, then the brevity and the quickness and the childlike hastiness of our thoughts achieve an incomparable joy. Whoever has learned how to listen to trees no longer wants to be a tree. He wants to be nothing except what he is. That is home. That is happiness.” Herman Hesse

I've been following your videos for some time now, but I've never thanked you for creating your lovely form of (what I consider to be) true film art. I really look forward to watching them and this has been especially true during the pandemic when I find myself alone at home most days. You have brought a unique talent into this world and captured the calm beauty from within you and your surroundings -- bringing it to film beautifully! What you are offering the world tilts it towards goodness and truth. We could all use a little more if that. May God bless your future endeavors and your upcoming marriage. 🙂

The Lake Michigan sand dune hardwood & hemlock forests growing right along the western coast of Michigan are maybe the most beautiful I've ever seen. All second growth but well over 100 years old & counting, they're a real joy to be among. And from these, when the west wind is really up, you can hear the distant roar of the waves crashing heavily on the LM shore. As good as it gets.

@@objetivista686 Here's the thing. As a Christian, if you're right and God doesn't exist, so what? I still will have lived a happy and beautiful life being kind and loving to others. I feel at peace and believe in forgiveness. Following the Lord keeps me out of trouble because the things He calls sin only lead to trouble. Stealing things or murdering people will put you in prison. Lying to people and committing adultery hurts people and makes them not trust you. Sexual immorality can lead to STDs and unplanned pregnancies outside of marriage. All of these things lead to trouble, stress, and can be life altering. But at the end of the day, I am not oppressed by anyone. I choose to follow God out of my love for Him and for what Christ did for me on the cross. It's a free gift. Anyone can accept it. I don't follow rules out of fear. I follow Jesus out of love and thankfulness for what He did for all of us. But again, if I'm wrong, I don't care. I would continue living my life this way because it blesses others and brings me joy and peace. Every atheist I've ever met is bitter, miserable, and angry. No real purpose in life. No hope. It's sad. But for the sake of argument, what if you're wrong? If I'm wrong, who cares? I still lived a beautiful life, helped people, had a great marriage, and stayed out of trouble. If you're wrong, an eternity of suffering is waiting for you. We all have a choice. No one can make it for you. I pray that you choose right.

"Our darkest moments and most upsetting feeling are an opportunity for uncovering a natural wisdom." That really spoke to me. And I find it to be very true. I am in the middle of making a youtube video on my channel where I finally want to open up about my past with mental health issues and the darkest time in my life. I think we are so used to shying away from these topics and trained by social media to only focus on not even the happy moments but the spectacular ones that we or at least I forget that the hard times in my life teach me the most about myself and about how I want to live.

As years have gone by, I’ve healed and learned over the years that the more I let ego and negativity take ahold, it only created more negativity and toxicity. Once I started focusing inward and healing myself, using affirmations such as “I will” and “I am” instead of “I hope” or “I wish”, my life changed for the better and you are right, words are very powerful and hold a lot of energy. Whatever we say is put out into the universe and it’s our decision how we take things in and how we react 💖 It’s amazing to know that others are recognizing the importance of how we treat ourselves, and how we speak our words. It’s truly inspiring to have came across your videos years ago, to feel so connected with you on so many levels! I took an Orthodox Christian catechetical class once, and one thing that really resonated with me was how the ancient interpretation of the Bible was not rooted in shame. "To sin" simply means to fall short of the goal. The ancient orthodox outlooks on things seemed very practical and nonjudgmental. The religious practices are designed to help a person reach that divine communion and be their best self. I found this ancient interpretation (dating back more than 2000 years) to be very open-minded and conducive to love and forgiveness.
@noqueq9003Ай бұрын
That's because the Orthodox Church is the direct practical continuation of the Apostles (hence its full name Orthodox Apostolic Church) and its liturgies and books are based in the original New Testament while western branches are based in mistranslated Bibles that have been messed with and misinterpreted multiple times all these centuries.

I have looked for one as an adult since, sadly, I grew out of mine. I don't know if yours is exactly the same but mine had cord all through the bottom of the skirt so you could tie it up a number of ways or even make pants out of it. I have always been sad that I couldn't find another one.

I really recommend crocheting and knitting, they're so therapeutic and you can make something wonderful for yourself or a friend. And it's the perfect time to just focus on one thing and be with yourself. My partner actually bought me an alpaca knitting kit so I could knit my own dress and it was my first project, I still love it. ☺️

I totally agree with what you are saying. I was rejected by others as a child at school, because I was bottom of the class, and kept down a year. I had dsylexia, and no one knew at the time as this was in the 60s/70s. I suffered a lot from what people said, and their reaction to me. I am now 65 and do not go out at all, only to walk my dog from the front door. Those things that happened in the past have kept with me all my life, and although I do the best I can for others, I do not have anyone to give me some love back now, which would be lovely. I feel so lucky I have my rescue greyhound, as she is the thing that gets me out, and keeps me going. Love to you from Devon. England. xxx

I love the wisdom you discussed in this video. Reminds me of wise words from another - everything can be taken from a man but one thing, the last of the human freedoms: to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances.

Oh, I had the same experience with customers when I worked in retail. I was about 18 and people who were mean to me just about destroyed me. At 51, I still remember those encounters and try to be lovely to all those retailers and waiters I interact with... really try to be kind to people in general. You never know who you'll encourage by your kindness.

Hi TheCottageFairy and her puppy! I just LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! OMG I GET SO EXCITED TO SEE YOU PUT ANOTHER ONE UP TODAY...YAY FOR ME~ OK, my area of the Country is experiencing a major Snow Storm and well to stay ahead of it today, I choose to go out three time and shovel. Temps between 30 and 23 respectfully when I was out in the snow and wind. If I didn't do this the snow would probaby be over 12 inches or more by morning. Making it too heavy to shovel for me. So I Thank GOD and my Body for helping me do the shoveling, as well as the Angels that I called forth to assist me. Which I feel they did. Also, I have a Robin that has cfome in to my yard with a flock of Starlings and I feel he is their leader. He is so so so smart, found the feral kitty food and all the items I put out for the squriels and creatures (fruit scraps, etc). He (the Robin) has even found that he can go under the tarp that I have for the feral kitties and sits on a rock and eats their dry food! He flies from the front to the back of my home and chirps to me and we have conversations. What a Sweet Treat for me. Robins normally show up in late April and May and stay for months and then go away for awhile. This is the very first time a Robin has even come to our area this early. He actually showed up starting two weeks ago. I am so honored and pleased he has chosen to grace my days with his prescence and conversations. It makes me smile and be fileld with joy. Thank YOU GOD> Many Blessings to you and yours and your pets too. God Bless, Sherry :)

Your embroidery turned out beautiful! My grandma taught me to embroider when I was 12 and it's one of my favorite hobbies. Recently I embroidered an Encanto skirt for my daughter's birthday and now I'm working on a blouse. I love your videos and the various creative projects you do!

I try to take mental notes every on the small things that make me happy and a lot of those moments have to do with my job working with children. The way they view the world has made me view the world in the same way, with wonder and joy at every little thing that catches my eye, and I’ll always be grateful for that

I hope you see this message. I work at Homegoods and some days its a little much for my soul to deal with but when I keep myself grounded I find that I am a blessing for some people who come in as they are for me. Most of us want to feel good and forget how, Im so glad you take the time to make these videos. You are constantly reminding me of who we really are, gentle souls who want to enjoy this human experience in all its forms.

What a wonderful video, Paola! I just love the flower piece over your door and your beautifully embroidered heart. I was so inspired and comforted by your video and decided to read some of the comments. I read many more than I had planned, and loved learning about the amazing amount of comfort and inspiration you bring to so many! You are a creative, gentle soul with a quiet voice that is so soothing. (I agree with one commenter who said she would love a book read by you -- me too!) The quiet beauty that you cultivate in your life, and are so kind to share with us, is like balm to the souls of so many. I too hope you continue with The Cottage Fairy after your marriage! Love and light to you . . .
