Yet another amazing performance by the former professionally trained Crystal Cathedral Choir (directed by Don Neuen) and Hour or Power Orchestra (Directed by Marc Riley). It's so sad that this kinda music is not there any more at Crystal Cathedral!!! I hope the choir, orchestra and Don Neuen could re-unite once more, even in another church - It can't just be over like that!!! In Jesus Name I PRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...and its a big AMEN to all those who prayed that the Crystal Cathedral returns to traditional music; (please see the crystal cathedral website for the announcement by John Charles - the new CEO of Crystal Cathedral Ministries - where he confirms the church's return to traditional music)...about 30 traditional choir members attended last week's service with John Tebay being the interim choir director and Tom Leonard (the great) at the organ...thank you Lord

The Crystal Cathedral choir is sorely missed. Monday is 4th of July. Tomorrow, Sunday, they'd be unfurling the floor to ceiling flag and singing God's praises along with a few patriotic tunes. Days gone by. Days gone by.

I understand the Diocese of Orange currently has a very good, solid, traditional music program at their cathedral currently. I wouldn't suspect there would be a change. I understand from people there that the organ is in rather poor playable condition right now. I'm hoping that will be rectified.

This will never happen again there is no longer a Hour of Power choir now we have to listen to Hour of Power ensemble and it will never sound like the Hour of Power choir

@Sesquiltera I am saddened and disappointed that the once magnificent of the Crystal Cathedral Choir no longer praises GOD with their rich and melodious voices. Sheila Schuller did what she thought was best. And even though we may not agree with her direction, we are to pray that GOD's will be done. That being said, I no longer tune in, myself. I cannot bear to see or hear the "praise team" with its monochromatic droning; people singing in church because they cannot sing at the club.

I watch this with a sad heart to know that there will never be music of this caliber in the CC ever again. Now they have that horrid praise band catcalling away with their hands akimbo. It probably won't improve when the new tenants take over the space than the current musical mess. I predict horrid nuns with guitars screeching liturgical repositories into the microphones from the altar with no real choir and no real music. Pray God I am wrong.

YOU ARE ALREADY WRONG. The new Music Ministry at CHRIST CATHEDRAL is working tirelessly to present and bring wondrous music ministries for masses in several languages. So far I have yet to even see an electric guitar, let alone a Nun playing one! You should apologize to readers here and to the Christ Cathedral music staff.

Dale Rider, I did write this 8 years ago and I agree that Dr Romeri is doing wonderful things! But I watched the funeral mass for Cardinal Kroll from the Basilica Cathedral in Philadelphia many years ago, and at the funeral for a Prince of the Church, they had a guy with a acoustic guitar with 2 nuns on either side of him screeching into a microphone the liturgical responses. No choir to be seen. Horrible! I am so glad that they take music there much more seriously than the Catholic Churches do in Philadelphia.
