Thanks Abi for showcasing this market. Next I come to Lagos I'll visit for Barracuda fish and tiger prawns! The seafood you referred to as periwinkle is actually called water snails or whelks but the riverine people of Rivers state call it ngolo and it is a major ingredient for Rivers native soup!

Beautiful to watch....A must visit. I was already thinking of going to Ocean Basket to get some of these, but I had a second thought knowing they also come get their sea foods here then resell. Only on a treat will a visit be needed. Thanks sis.for showing this.

Thanks for this information but are there snails in both Liverpool and Epe fish market? Makoko seafood market is being made popular by the these lovely videos which in turn makes them become pricey because they enjoy higher patronage. Thanks so much

Really enjoy your content. Oko means farmed while Osa means Lagoon, Ocean or Wild. Typically, anything wild-caught, including fishes, is priced more than anything farmed (fishes). I hope this helped.

I think the fish is Lady fish and not red snapper. Red snapper is the same as the white snapper the difference is in the colour.
