I got COVID rn, I’m double vaccinated, I’m 18 n healthy n I’m doing horribly. I’ve had 39° fevers, trouble breathing, everything hurts, sometimes I can’t even sit up in bed because of how weak I am, the other day I was so close to going to the hospital because of how bad it was. Just because there’s a higher chance u won’t have it bad doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed.

had the exact same experience, except I have asthma and am considered a risk group due to mental issues. it's been 6 months and my asthma has significantly worsened, I get constant muscle aches, random bouts of fatigue, migraines and joint problems. all because of people like this absolute douchebag who think it's "not that bad." hope you get better soon and don't experience any long term symptoms, you've got this❤️

Hold on to that hope and never let go. Recently I’ve been losing my hope and it’s made my physical health problems and mental illness worsen in days. I don’t know how to get mine back because of my specific set of circumstances, disabilities, lack of support, etc. and even before I started feeling more crushed, dead, angry, and psychotic I had less than 1% of hope. If you can draw hope from anything and keep being strong, fighting to live your best life and survive, etc. please do so because a lot of us won’t ever be able to.

during the pandemic part of my grandma's house collapsed and she took a chance on hiring a contractor to fix it since we had nowhere else to stay (99% of the work could be done from the garden, so he didn't really come into the house.) she took every precaution with masks, gloves, etc. and the dude ensured he was taking covid tests every morning before work. so, what did I hear him listening to in our yard? Joe Rogan's podcast about covid conspiracies. I tried to stay open-minded (maybe it was his first time listening? maybe he was just busy and didn't realise what was playing, etc) ...aaaand then he tried to convince my 70-year-old grandmother with COPD that she should be taking Ivermectin, and she could get it from a vet he knew. yeah, I got that dude away from our house pretty quick after that lol

I have Ankylosing Spondylitis and as a result, it's stolen much of my vision from chronic iritis. I have a host of other issues and injuries. I just push past it. I've been without health insurance before and it caused irreversible damage. I'm a single mom and have a master's degree and I'm still poor and struggling. I don't complain often. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your story and bringing light to some of this. Invisible and chronic illnesses are mentally debilitating as much as physically and it's important we have visibility and aren't so unfairly judged and labeled

Again, many good takes. But maybe mockery of cauliflower ear, an injury related cosmetic issue, is not it? I have things that even happened to my ear for very different reasons, that kinda thing makes me feel like its disgusting and worthy of mockery. Plus, needless to say, it can punch down at many other people, someone like him? He is not going to care about that mockery, those who have congential or other non-typical looks will be impacted, both personally and in terms of that from of body shaming being more normalized to your audience.
