Quite frankly, I find that whole "egging on the teen heartthrob" thing really creepy and just not okay. It seems like adults do it to young boys in the industry because they know that girls are the ones throwing money at them because they're crushing on the boy, and if they encourage said boy to put himself out there like that, he can make them ✨money✨. Teens are completely unable to have a normal experience with puberty and sexuality while in the entertainment industry, and I just find it devastating. Every time an under-18-year-old does something provocative, I can only think of their manager or whoever whispering in their ear like, "go on, the girls love it!" and it just ugh, it makes me so uncomfortable. I really wonder sometimes what Justin was going through, it can't have really been a dream... And all the adults that were bullying him when he was so young?? I feel really bad for him sometimes.
