Rip Norm MacDonald, he is my comedy hero. I'm a huge SNL fan. Norm, Dan Aykroyd and the 2008 - 2013 era cast of SNL taught me comedy and english actually.

So good. So unorthodox. Explaining a joke is not funny it's a cardinal rule of comedy, but norm had such a pulse on comedic timing he could break every rule of comedy and still not miss.

Conan's ratings didn't tank because of his demo, they tanked because Jay was coming on an hour earlier and his fans could just watch him instead of being forced to try Conan on like they later did with Jimmy Fallon. It was literally Leno's fault that Conan's ratings were so bad. When you're used to doing things a specific way, it's hard to try something new even if you might like it better, but when you're forced through circumstances to try it out, you'll often find even greater enjoyment. This is what would've happened for Conan and Jimmy Fallon benefited greatly from that debacle. Not only because he got the Tonight Show, but also because his KZbin content wouldn't exist on this level had TeamCoco not done it first. All the other talk shows followed what Conan ended up doing with his clips from the TBS show
@quintoblanco87462 жыл бұрын
His ratings tanked before that. That is why the network made the weird move to push Leno forward. They panicked.

Conan is one of the most surreal, smart and honest talk show host ever. He melded Letterman's edginess and sarcasm with smarts, alt comedy love, vaudeville influence and awesome music taste into a late night show that influenced a group of people much like early Simpsons, then Kids in the Hall and Mr. Show did. He will always be my favorite talk show host. I think he was perfectly tailored to a group that's now in their 30s and 40s who grew up in the dying days of 3 tv network and radio days that slowly got access to the internet and a boom of free media that had never been seen ever. Those who came of age in the mid 90s to mid 2000s had such a cluster fuck of different experiences with the birth and death of so much media in a multitude of forms. It's a big part of our generation.

@@Homelesshater it's not just catcalling though. It's literally that we don't have the same rights, we still in most cases need our husbands permission or have 3 kids to get sterilized while men don't have nearly as much obstacles with getting a vasectomy. My mom was essentially fired for being pregnant because she worked at a men's clothing store that was "chic" and encouraged female salesladies to dress as revealing and possible. Sexual harassment is also way more than catcalling. It's working and having a creep ask your manager or coworker when you arrive or leave work, being shamed for being sexually active while men get lauded for it. I remember in church only the teen girls would get cornered essentially to talk to have the pastors "talk" to us, in their attempts to "discourage" teen pregnancy. They gave us flowers and forced us to tear the petals out and told us that the flower symbolized us and that taking the petals was what symbolically would happen each time we had sex with another person. We also had to rip apart paper plates and try to tape them back together, while then try to do the same to glass plates. They then told us the difference between the plates was that the paper plates were meant to be used and thrown away, while the glass plates were to be kept and treasured, and that the paper plates were women who had sex before marriage and the glass plates were women who waited until marriage. Patriarchy does exist. Might not be as in your face as it used to be but it still exists quite plainly between the lines
@_Aluc4rd_2 жыл бұрын
Patriarchy has been debunked time again, people bring it up when they don't any explanation and/or are looking for excuses to wrong decisions they have made in life. Just take some accountability for how your life turned out, it will make things easier, even if its a little bit

@@radioactive_sunflowerz2450 are you Indian or even Middle Eastern?
@hazalbakunawa23732 жыл бұрын
@@radioactive_sunflowerz2450 I agree that Patriarchy exist, but blaming the men for it is the dumbest thing that anyone have ever done. The system doesn't favor men it favors the "patriarch", that's why it's called the patriarchy. Men are the worst victims of patriarchy, you don't realize it because men don't like hearing complains or complain themselves. Women need to realize that men are not your enemy in this bs, but you'd rather b__ch about it than get things done. I don't really get the pastor stuff cause it's not my religion, but they're right about discouraging teen pregnancy. A child have no business in having a child, parents in their twenties suck at being a parent. I can't imagine how much worse teen parents are. And the women seeing each other as competition that didn't go away, I always see it in my group, in my workplace, and even in my neighborhood. It's a lie that it can be change, human nature don't work like that, just like men are afraid with each other women will continue hate each other. All that friendship crap are temporary alliances, men do that too.

That's and interesting thought and repectable approach. If you're famous you meet fans all the time, but rarely the same fan yet remain that person they love amd look up to despite how you feel inside atm. Sp yes you give that fan that smiling picture or autograph or both because he/she or they will probably never meet you again so you do that, but at the same time just another fan of the day and it can be tiring at times I imagine.
