The difference between the British version and the US version is that some of the US players are treating this like an actual competition to answer as quickly as possible and win the game. The idea of British panel shows is that the competition doesn't matter - it's just a vehicle for jokes. By answering so quickly (guy in the suit), you suck the jokes out of the set-up.

Actually it does have competition on who is first on the British version. It's just that the others get a crack at it too, because they won't keep their mouths shut. So they've incorporated it into the show.

Yes. Uk version is hilarious and fun. I worry Americans are not gonna nail this one, the reason I think they lack a linguistic culture when it comes to chitchatting shit but keeping it interesting. A bit too try hard. They will also need to cast correctly for this kind of shows, it's not just being a comedian, it's being decent at recent events especially politics and main media so u can make fun of it. To be able to be silly but intelligently at that. English, are real good at that.

It might be on KZbinTV but I ain't paying $65 for a single show even if it was. It's a shame because I love Roy Wood Jr and this looks like it could actually be pretty good. But I doubt they'll do what Last Week Tonight did and just make full episodes available for free. I mean I don't see it being a problem for them if they did (these news-comedy shows have at best a week or so of relevance, generally, so exclusivity past the airdate is pretty worthless) but CNN already made a great choice in giving Roy Wood Jr his own show. I don't see them making two in a row. But I guess if it's decent there's a chance it'll become available.

Yes, we the audience know it is for points but British panel shows have always treated points with contempt, Clive Anderson immortalising the words "..Where everything is made up and the points don't matter"

. The Dreamcast was not a bad system. It did have a lot of games. It failed because you could take a blank CD (like the some kind used for actual CDs) and burn the games with a PC. How anyone missed this is insane. Now Sega makes games not consoles.
