Every character grows into their ideal selves. Tahani actually becomes a selfless person who becomes an architect to help others go to the Good Place and reconciled with her family. Chidi learns to be confident and make decisions, and Eleanor literally doesn’t leave the Good Place to die until all of her friends have either moved on or had their dreams fulfilled like Michael becoming human. It's like what that guy who blew up said. Shawn's a bully, and sometimes, the only thing a bully understands is a punch in the mouth. I'm gonna go down there, I'm gonna punch him in the mouth, and I'm gonna get Janet back." Janet experiences time all at once. At the same time that she first meets him, she is also saying goodbye. She still feels shock, surprise and love, even if she knows what is coming, why and that she will fall in love. Every moment is expected, but powerful nevertheless, as if you are watching every scene of your favourite movie all at once. You’ve seen it countless times, but each scene is always powerful, independent of their sequence.

Totally same here. But as you got to know him you find out he didn't have the easiest life growing up or have the best influences around. Hanging around the group in the afterlife definitely made him a better person and learned from them while he taught them how to live life. Besides lying about being Jianyu at the start he was always honest about what he was doing and how he was feeling. And often he would see things from a different perspective the others couldn't see that would help them in a jam. It was really fun to see this cast of characters grow over the seasons.

I was a bit worried he'd end up with Tahani but I'm really glad he didn't bc although I love Tahani, there's just something so endearing about Jason's pure love for Janet. Like it's so sweet and innocent, like he never fully realized she wasn't a girl until the end, and that's what actually made her human over time.
