Every character grows into their ideal selves. Tahani actually becomes a selfless person who becomes an architect to help others go to the Good Place and reconciled with her family. Chidi learns to be confident and make decisions, and Eleanor literally doesn’t leave the Good Place to die until all of her friends have either moved on or had their dreams fulfilled like Michael becoming human. They all grow so much.

Yeah! but it was also somehow fitting. A lot of times, he doesn't understand the actual situation but ends up understanding the philosophical or overall context of it and then explains it using a personal anecdote that is a good example of what was being discussed. It shows that intelligence doesn't express itself in one way and that it doesn't have much to do with your spirituality.

Honestly, one of my favorite scenes in the show is that one, and immediately after that scene when they're trying to figure out what to do/how to get Janet back, and he says: "I know what to do. It's like what that guy who blew up said. Shawn's a bully, and sometimes, the only thing a bully understands is a punch in the mouth. I'm gonna go down there, I'm gonna punch him in the mouth, and I'm gonna get Janet back." Legit was surprised that it didn't make the cut of this video, because it shows that there's a little bit more to him than I think most people give him credit for.

Janet experiences time all at once. At the same time that she first meets him, she is also saying goodbye. She still feels shock, surprise and love, even if she knows what is coming, why and that she will fall in love. Every moment is expected, but powerful nevertheless, as if you are watching every scene of your favourite movie all at once. You’ve seen it countless times, but each scene is always powerful, independent of their sequence.

@@bwingbwinggwiyomi We're so used to the linear nature of time that it's impossible to imagine it as anything but unless you think about it in abstract. Here's how I imagine it: Imagine you're having a five course meal, one after the other. That's linear timeline but experiencing all time at the same time means gorging on all of it at the same time and that too doing it with a large mouth so essentially eating all of it in a single gulp.

Totally same here. But as you got to know him you find out he didn't have the easiest life growing up or have the best influences around. Hanging around the group in the afterlife definitely made him a better person and learned from them while he taught them how to live life. Besides lying about being Jianyu at the start he was always honest about what he was doing and how he was feeling. And often he would see things from a different perspective the others couldn't see that would help them in a jam. It was really fun to see this cast of characters grow over the seasons.

Jason was used to people being dismissive of him and thinking he's an idiot (which he sorta is but he's also really sweet) but Janet was always sweet and kind to him. Jason treated Janet like a person and didn't care that he technically wasn't. Jason was the first person that Janet ever connected with and allowed her to become more human. Jason was the first one who saw Janet as more than just a sorta robot. Their relationship is so beautiful and pure. They never gave up on each other and I'm so glad they got their happy ending. 💗

Jason and Janet are by far my favorite TGP couple. I was a bit worried he'd end up with Tahani but I'm really glad he didn't bc although I love Tahani, there's just something so endearing about Jason's pure love for Janet. Like it's so sweet and innocent, like he never fully realized she wasn't a girl until the end, and that's what actually made her human over time. So I'm really glad the writers went the route they did, bc otherwise I would've been a bit disappointed, ngl. Anyways LOVE YOU JASON AND JANET

Just discovered your channel. I have only watched this one and the one with the top 20 books from 1000+ people. Did you ever get around to reading 1984? That specific book is the one which has moved me the most, while Murakami would be the author, who's meant the most to me (and One Hundred Years of Solitude is in my top 5-10 books), so even if 1984 may feel like a leap, it's not really (necessarily). Oh, and go for Brave New World after 1984 :) I love your laid back vibe and will be checking out more of your stuff.

Jason is the best character in this show, like period. Janet is the best Janet. She's not even a character to me, she's just Janet.

I often don’t like fictional romances. Too many writers think that romance is only compelling at the will they/won’t they phase. Schurverse couples are fun and compelling after they get together because they help each other grow.
