They used her just enough imo. Donna isn't the kind to mind other people's businesses too much, to get too involved or dragged into people's affairs. She does her own things, at her own pace, and nobody's gonna tell her what she should be doing or how she should be doing it. She chooses to be more of a side character rather than to be involved with others deeply. They wouldn't have been able to include her more without going against her personality, especially if they had to be more in the main intrigues.

Donna is actually an essential core of the office... She's the one holding it all together. Ron does nothing and wants everybody to be like him. April is a true Ron's disciple. Jerry messes everything up and is a total disaster. Tom is just there for the contacts. Leslie does a lot of things but she's more into projects, she doesn't do the smaller daily things needed.

It's not revealing of anything other than "sassy fat black woman", I think. If I was trying to assemble a ten-minute clips package and I was being serious about it, that clip wouldn't make the cut. In this one we see more than once that she's the sassy fat black woman, but we also see that she's sexual, self-possessed, and handles life with a hedonistic cynicism--except when it concerns her friends. The Meagles may be a cold people, but Donna still looks out for her friends when they're in need. Like...I'd have possibly subbed in the clip where she reveals she has the entire department backed up in case Jerry accidentally deletes it again, because she's also highly competent. Anyway, hope you're doing well over there. This was a needlessly serious answer to what was no doubt a joking question.
