@@iridiumman3087 Most likely not, since both of the Peralta fathers (except Jake) were constantly absent from the lives of their family whereas Jake doesn't have a reason to be absent from Mac's life as he pretty is now a stay-at-home Dad. Edit: just to add more, Jake sacrificed being a detective (what he always wanted to be) just so that there would be someone taking care of Mac at home. Being a good parents takes sacrifices. His reasons were issues that he needed to heal from, from the very beginning it has been part of Jake's arc to heal from the trauma of his daddy issues and grow from it. The main reason he didn't want to have kids was because of his father but having his family, especially holt around him gave him that push necessary to stop letting his trauma and fear hold him back.

Can we talk about how barely a year into their marriage Amy gave Jake an ultimatum. Like I get it, she wants kids. But she never said “we don’t have to have kids right away” she went straight to “either put a baby in me or I’m gone” and to me that’s a big red flag. I don’t want kids till at least a few years into my marriage
@jesslu1966 Жыл бұрын
I think the bigger red flag between the couple is them stepping into marriage without discussing if they both wanted kids. Clearly it's a writer's flaw coz Amy as a character wouldn't forget.
@Caligrace2020 Жыл бұрын
@@jesslu1966 actually this video is missing a scene before they married when they end up watching terry kids, in that scene they both confirmed they where ok with ideal of having kids, jake has the ability to act irrational especially when reality hits him (her saying they were going try to have one) basically it look a couple who get cold feet on their wedding despite the fact they want to get married.
@May-yp4we8 ай бұрын
She isn't wrong though women only have few years in which they can give birth she's not saying " Give me a baby right now " She's saying that what happens if afters few years of waiting for jake to decide on the matter he decides no to have kids? What then? she doesn't have lifetime ability to give birth and if she starts out with someone else it will obviously mean she'll have less and less chances of giving birth.

Am I the only one who didn't like the fact that Jake left his dream job for the kid? They handled it pretty well, but practically that'd never work out. It'll just put a whole lot more pressure on Amy. My dad left his job for me and NEVER let me forget it. It was hell for a lot of reasons, so yeah no. Don't make "sacrifices" for your kids and then make life miserable for both of you
@heatherstephenson3559 Жыл бұрын
I don't know, I have really mixed feelings about it. It was such an amazing thing for him to do for Amy and makes sense as he's always been incredibly supportive of her and her career, even if it means him going without his career and not getting to have both while Amy and the other parents get to have both (with the others even getting promotions and I felt for Jake when it showed Boyle with his new partner.) I can totally believe and appreciate that Mac means more to him than his dream job and I know he'd do anything for his fam but it still sucks that he had to give it up completely as it didn't seem like he' go back to being a cop with how S8 went down and he was already SUCH an amazing Dad and husband so it's bittersweet.
@justanotherupscaspirant8837 Жыл бұрын

Yeah, I get the reasons for the show ending like that and it's great for Mac and Amy and most of the main cast but there are just too many factors that make it feel unfair to Jake and I just wanted him to be happy and have a happier ending in every sense as he deserves to have something great happen to him.
@whoismuskaan Жыл бұрын
Thing is I don't see it like that. From the beginning of season 8 we have seen that Jake was not as invested in his career as he was in the prior seasons and keep on trying to prove himself or supposedly "his friends" such as Rosa that he is okay being a Detective even after all things happen but real matter of the fact was that he wasn't liking himself as an detective that he sabotaged himself to get 6 months of suspension and so on... So yeah moving on to quit being a detective somehow made sense. 🙂
@heatherstephenson3559 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I get that and understand his reasons and why it makes sense as the best plan for Amy and Mac and I love Jake so much for it, I just really wanted to make sure that he’d be happy too and there were just quite a few factors that made it unfair for him, in my opinion but I know that he won’t regret it.
