Totally agree- that level of human compassion and forgiveness is unfortunately hard to find these days. After learning about this back-story, I realize Dolly could serve as an example of ethical behavior, to women and men, in both business and in life. I lived in the same neighborhood as Porter n Dolly (iykyk) in Nashville back in the late 60's/early 70's. You'd see them at the grocery store as well as other celebs. Nashville used to be cool.

Porter produced it first. Dolly took it to number 1 4x's. She didn't let Elvis record it because he wanted rights to it and she wasn't giving up her rights to it. Dolly still makes money ever time it's played. Weither it's her singing or Whitney Houston singing. She's made more than $20 million on just this song
