I think the racism is funny because it’s not inciting hatred. It’s poking fun at what were horrific times in history and Asian stereotypes (which are also terrible). It’s comedy you can’t take at face value. It’s much more complex and a mockery of what humans think are serious issues that they can’t get over and done with. It’s like laughing at death but we all know we will die some day, some earlier than others. Terminal cancer patients may be offended, but not necessarily people who don’t know their mortal fate. That’s what makes being offended so absurd, fragility of one’s perception of self and the groups they think they belong to.

I was at the shoot doing lighting and working the crowd, he did not have a clue. But his girlfriend knew and he wanted to seem cool / calm to her lol. Some mexican guys in the crowd were being super racist to him, it was hilarious.

The way it starts with a pretty normal, expected "mean" caricature drawing, and then the camera slowly zooms out to reveal the next one and it's just an immediate jump to the most racist drawing you've ever seen
