Given the way Bert was acting all giddy like a preteen girl, telling Adam Sandler that he basically is his comedy idol, I figured It’s possible (with this being Bert’s first interview of Sandler) that Bert’s nervousness and excitement caused him to confuse the titles of a couple of Sandler films. So I gave Bert “a pass” on those two back to back mixups. But when Bert said “Ace Ventura”, the cringe chills rushed through me from head to toe. If Joe Rogan never encouraged Brendan Schaub to enter the worlds of standup comedy and podcasting, Mr. Bert Kreischer would be the “King of Cringe”. So a fairer title for him would be “The Prince of Cringe”.

I've got a bit of a different take on the Sandler situation: I think Bert's ego got hurt when Adam didn't know who he was. Then, he went into his passive form of aggression and intentionally botched the movie titles. I think this because the second time, Bert said Happy Gilmore and didn't acknowledge that he messed it up the previous time. It was a diss, and Adam knew that, which is why he turned up the heat. If he thought Bert was just stupid, he'd have let it go. Just my take, love your work!

I think the most frustrating thing about Bert for me is the repetition of stories told. He will start out the week on 2 Bears telling a story if he is on two other podcasts that week, you can bet your ass he is telling that story two more times. And I am not talking about the Machine.

I actually love Bert. But at one point I was watching 2 bears, Bill Bert, Bertcast, etc. He's one of those guys I find hilarious but I have to do it in small spurts now. Too much of Bert happens quickly. Tom Segura and Bill Burr do it just right. They do enough to keep you entertained. They are on the brink of over exposure without crossing the line. But Bert never says no which leads to him being exhausting at times. I'm not taking YMH or MMP into account. Or even 2 Bears. But when you hear Tom on another podcast, it's awesome to hear him talk about hip hop or cars. Bill with helicopters or drums. Bert is all personality but no substance. He wears on you.
