I believe it is within most of us to help in another's moment of need. A few years ago, I saw a woman appearing to be struggling to keep standing. I ran across the road and saw that she was very pale. She explained that she suddenly felt very weak and needed help. I called for an ambulance. She then told me her mother was waiting for her at a nearby restaurant. I ran and brought her mom back just as an ambulance arrived. When they left, the mother asked for my name. Several days later, I began receiving calls to alert me that I had been named in a letter to our local newspaper. I was sent a screenshot of the letter that explained the woman's blood pressure had dropped dangerously and mentioned my assistance. That warmed my heart. I subsequently met mom and daughter for lunch. I had made 2 lovely new friends. Kindness costs nothing but can be so rewarding.

I lost my mom very unexpectedly in early 2019. Right now she is buried in the the back lot with all of our old dogs. (legal here), and seriously, if I had more time to talk with her, she would have mentioned which dog she wanted to be closest to. We have always been dog people, and while we never disliked cats, we could never figure out why we would want one in the house.

I wish I could relate to this. My grandparents are/were pretty horrible, in exception of my late paternal grandpa but he died when I was 4 but I heard that he was a really kind man. My older sister has some good memories with him but I wasn't old enough to remember any. My other 3 have/had their favourite children and that extended to their favourite grandchildren as well. My mother and father were the black sheep in their respective family before marriage so you get the gist.

While I was working as an EVS worker in a hospital, I went up to hospice to clean a room and saw a young teenage girl sobbing after her grandfather passed. The only thing that I could do was comfort her as much as I could. Every grieving person needs the same thing and God bless them.

You can tell which kids have great parents by the way the treat their peers. When I was in school the kid with the prosthetic leg was called gimpy etc. I got in a few scuffles with the kids that weren’t raised to love everyone. It makes such a difference if you take the time to teach your children well. (CSNY). I know all those times I told my kids to treat everyone e with love and respect payed off because they are the best kids a dad could ask for. Thank you so much for this beautiful video. I broke down at the father listening to his dead daughters heart beating in someone else’s chest. Having lost a daughter and offering her organs up for transplant, I’d have loved for part of her to live on. Sadly, that was not possible at the end and there is nothing left of her but memories in this world. After nearly 5 years, I still find it all hard to accept. ❤️

SO I had an amazing art teacher in high school. Most kids took his class for an easy A, but he saw how much I loved to draw and how much I loved the class and he just took time to help me and taught me so many things, that art teacher one hit hard for me. If it wasn't for him, I'd never have really perused it and now I am grateful for him.

I worked as an ER/Trauma nurse for more than 20 years. We see people at their worst and see the worst people trying to be their best. After that long of seeing what humans to do each other, how they raise their kids to be contrary and controlling of the parents, how parents don't much care about their kids ... you lose all faith in humanity. These videos have helped me to see the good in people, in the children that caring parents raise (those make me cry because I can see hope for humanity). In watching these videos, you'd get the picture that people are caring and mostly good. I'm still not there yet. I had 20 years worth of horrible acts by horrible people, of narcissists, of bad parents. But I will thank you for giving me hope.

The one where the girl asked her step dad to adopt her... That hit different. I'm 28 and STILL want to be adopted by my step dad but don't have the money. That means so much to kids honestly. He tried but my sperm donor wouldn't let him since he didn't legally relinquish his rights and then financial troubles. To any step parent with a partners kids with absent parents, it really means so much to kids to be accepted and loved by their step parents and one day I'll have enough money to pay for it. My dad (step) just suffered two heart attacks in three days. My dream is that he'll adopt me before he ever leaves this Earth. That's my dad and I love him so much and I'm just grateful to have him.

As someone who couldn't get the adoption papers filed in time, all I can tell you is push. Do what you can to get the papers and push to get them signed and filed away or it will be one of your greatest regrets in life. I'm 28 too and my mama, the woman who had the backbone to raise a wild child like me, passed away in 2021 suddenly and the only regret I have is that I didn't push a little harder to get papers signed where she was legally my mama.

I love to see people being kind. We need to bring the humanity back to human kind! I had a major stroke one day in the middle of the street and a man and his daughter came and helped me. I never knew who they were until one day I was sitting at a restaurant waiting on an order when this complete stranger came up to me and put his hands on my knees and looked at me straight to the face 😳 and asked me if I knew who's he or if I remember him? I stared at him and said you look familiar but no. He said that he was the man that helped me when I suffered my episode and I couldn't believe it after it finally hit me I stood up and hugged crying and said thank you for saving my life.

its so sad to see all the grandparent ones because my grandparents are in their 70's and not in the greatest of health (grandpa fought in vietnam) (grandma has diabetes and plenty other problems walking with a cane right now) and i am trying to enjoy every moment i have with them and i genuinely dont know what ill do when they are gone they are my soul and my whole life i love them more than i love my parents tbh, and i pray that they live forever, and hopefully they do, but i understand whats coming and im not ready for it

Enjoy every moment you have with them making new memories and cherish old memories. My grandparents are both gone and I miss them dearly. I'm sad because I never got to meet my mom's dad as he passed away from a heart attack while swimming at their vacation home. My mom was in her late teens when she lost her dad. She also lost her middle sister to Lupus as a teen, so two people that I never had the chance to meet. Heard some great stories about them so I cherish that, but still........

Right? That was a crisis situation and he could have just run out like the other students did. Not saying they're thoughtless or bad kids of course, just the fact that he carried his classmate on his back during an earthquake down some stairs in a mass of panicked children is a testament of his character and that he's done his parents proud.

*I gave a homeless man $200 on Christmas Eve. The next time I didn’t even recognize him. He had a hair cut, dog food for his dog (so cute) and managed to have enough money to get a job. He now has his own place, works as the manager for a grill type restaurant and hires any homeless people over others. It literally made me cry to see for once, someone else happy. Helping people in need is not only necessary, but it makes this place that we all live on better for everyone. No matter who it is, a homeless person (bum as a lot of people like to call them (how disgusting)), elderly, injured, etc. we all should help them to see another HUMAN happy. Who knows when in life you’ll need it back.*

Man I started crying at the old lady and her birthday and the gentleman on his deathbed with his grandson. I feel like we take our grandparents and elders for granted, even more so in this day and age. I was blessed beyond belief to have all of my grandparents and even on of my great grandmothers alive when I could recollect. Now I only have one grandfather and both my grandmothers, but the one has advanced dementia and my grandfather has already made decisions regarding their passing. It never feels real, like it never feels like that's a possibility. Time is terrifying and after watching this and having a good cry I'm all the more happy I'm getting dinner with them tonight, even if they cause a scene like I know they do.
