I always admire Destro as an excellent stradegist as well as his love for the baroness

in the 80s, there were too many comparisons to darth vader imo. both were large, both wore masks & were feared. Both fictional characters had weapons, power & wealth. darth vader & destro were also bitter about being sub serveant . destro was a interesting character in the comics. his mask was a symbol & ornamental not like the sunbow cartoon.

Destro has always been my favorite Joe character. In my head, it's he who leads Cobra and CC is just a figurehead to take spears in his place, heh heh.

The GI Joe comic stories from the 80s are badass. The Joes had no problem blowing away Cobra troops in the comics and they fired bullets instead of Sunbow lasers. Lol!

I love the first season of G.I.JOE Generation 1 when a team of JOES are accidentally sent back into an alternate reality where Destro and Baroness are good and only half the JOES go back to their own reality.I was a rather emotional episode.

in the movie the did explain destro's Scottish origin fairly well but didn't go into detail. but one thing that made laugh a little bit in the movie was when Scarlett realized that the firing phrase was in Celtic. I laughed a little inside because i think she was meant to say Gaelic and not Celtic. Celtic is the Traditions of the Irish and Scottish from their ancestors the ancient Celts. Gaelic was the language of the two countries.

When the Baroness called him ‘Dest-Romeo’ on the pyramid of darkness miini series…I think that pretty much solidified Destro as a certified PIMP. No one else can claim the title of King Pimp in the GI Joe verse…Not snake eyes, Not Storm shadow, not Duke , and not Flint. In fact I. The comics -Dsstro even put the moves on Lady Jaye right in front of Flint! PIMPIn’ ain’t easy…even when you’re head of MARS . The REAL God of War!

Destro, Zartan and Storm Shadow were always my 3 favourite GI Joes even though they were on the Cobra side and if Destro would've led Cobra instead of the buffoon Cobra Commander with Zartan as 2nd in command the Joe's would have had an one hell of an uphill battle on their hands cause Destro was a better stategist than any of the leaders of the Joe's

the marvel comics said the silver mask was made of berilium steel. destro checks it thru customs on a international flight & briefly describes it to US customs. I think he had diplomatic immunity or was a formal diplomat so he could not be arrested or detained.
