Great Video. Here are my tips: 1-Make a list of comics you really want 2-Have a budget, you can get carry away sometimes at a con 3-Look around before you start buying, you may find books cheaper in another part of the con

love all those. I wasn't sure if this type of video would be a hit but it was. part 2 someday will include that. thankd

I'm a girl and I'm going in a full spandex Spider-Man suit and I'm kind of nervous because I've never been to a con before

a massive don't.... don't come up take photos of people etching without permission, I went to a con last year and took my service dog, plus pup in training and so many people came over and jammed cameras in their faces it stopped them from doing their job and even ended up making them scared of cameras, hence wearing a big sign this year nicely saying I know the dogs are cute I know you want to hug, stroke and photo them but please remember they are working hard to keep me alive and need to concentrate so please ask before any interactions.

In overall no animal likes a crowd as big as its on a con. U knew it will make them uncomfortable, but you still brought them instead of asking someone to hell you out. And now u here crying, blaming your own fault on others, nice.

Ty! Going to Phoenix 'Con 2022 and your lists (and others) are extremely helpful. 👍

Actually, unfortunately, it can be dangerous going to a con alone. Usually it's not like you'll get stabbed or something, but, especially if you're a woman and you go alone, there are most certainly creeps or just drunk weirdos that'll go after you. They sometimes will follow you around all day, try to get you to come with them to a hotel or something, plenty of people have even been groped. It's really best to go with someone. I speak from experience.

I go alone, because no one in my friend group can get into SDCC. Otherwise, good tips. Another big don't that I'd add is to not be offended or rude if someone doesn't want to stop for a photo. They may be in costume, but that doesn't mean they're not busy making a panel or talking with their friends.

Tip # 1 don't buy a copy of Spider-man 300 that's priced at 150$ even if you get it for 100$, because for that price the book probably looks like someone wiped their ass with it.

Very nice tips! Yeah definitely set a budget on how much you're planning to spend. I've overspent before because I didn't have a plan lol. Also make sure to charge your phone somewhere prior to entering a con. I know I've gone to cons and I was doing research on a particular book and i got low bat. And all power outlets have been occupied deadpool or pikachu haha.

When I went to Awesome Con in Washington DC, they had plenty of seating inside and outside the event halls. There were also charging stations at the seating areas where people could charge their devices. They also had water cooler machines and water fountains so that people could refill their water bottles. It’s all free. Also, most people packed and brought their lunches. Food is expensive at comic cons and vendors can run out of food fast. Sometimes vendors are closed when you want food, so it’s best to bring snacks or packed lunch from home. I am a vegetarian and follow a particular diet. There were plenty of seating areas to eat on every floor of the convention center when I went.

Just because someone is wearing a cosplay doesn't mean they wanna be tackle hugged or "glomped" there are multiple reasons, I'm 16, but 4'9 and 95 pounds, if you run and tackle hug me, I am going to fall over. Not everyone likes to be touched so you should ask if you can hug them first, I've had someone go as far as asking if they could put a hand on my shoulder (I didn't have a breakable cosplay) for a picture. I don't mind having my fellow geeks give me a hug or put their arm around me but not everyone wants to have a stranger touching them. Another thing is, you could send someone into a panic attack. Cosplay doesn't mean that being violently grabbed won't scare the shit outta someone.

I always pack a sandwich, fruit snacks, and little baby bel cheeses. Bring a water bottle. I like to have a folder, so when I buy art it won't bend. Have someone have a first aid kit. If you cosplay, being a mini sewing kit aswell.

My trainer was dressed as Poindexter from Zombies in Spaceland at his first comic con. Part of his cosplay included a red fanny pack, and it was helpful for him.

You're wrong about the "don't go alone" tip. Since there is stuff for different tastes at these conventions, not everyone is going to want to do the same things. The first time I went to SDCC a few years ago, I went because a friend was "gracious" enough to buy me a ticket. I collect figures/statues so I would have liked to stop by all the booths and buy a few things, but my "friend" simply wanted to walk up and down the entire convention center in cosplay. That meant that I had to go on my own, behind his back, to buy stuff because I would have been mad if I told him to go with me to check stuff out. How do I know this? Because even when we cosplayed together, people were taking more pics of me than him and he eventually asked; "are you done taking pictures?" As if it was my fault more people liked my cosplay than his. Point is; better to go alone than deal with other people's shit.

dont buy photo ops. u pay $200 just for some geezer to take a pic and forget about u. thats it. i took one with will poulter in 2013 and it was the biggest waste of money.
