The Umbrella Academy isn’t short on members, and these characters have some pretty amazing powers which just seem to get stronger as the show continues. If you’re having trouble keeping track of who can do what, we’ll help you out by taking a look at this superhero roster. There were some new abilities that debuted in season 2, and the second season is still less stacked than the source material. We finally got a better glimpse of Ben’s monster, and the White Violin was as dangerous as ever. We’ve seen Diego Hargreeves do some straight up metal bending, but can he also breathe underwater? Number Five has one of the most impressive powers of all: time travel, even if he occasionally puts a decimal point in the wrong place. Number One has the strength of a superpowered man and an ape, while Allison can accomplish a lot simply by saying “I heard a rumor.”

Diego's power is changing the direction of projectiles, not metal bending, this is why he can stop bullets and can angle knifes

Diego can manipulate any moving object. It's a diluted form of telekinesis. I think he is especially agile and acrobatic because he can also manipulate his own movement.

I saw this commented somewhere else but... Fun fact: Reginald numbered them backwards in the comics from most useful to the least useful which means that Luther has the weakest power while Vanya has the strongest power. I find this "fact" to be pretty subjective since Luther, Diego, and Allison's power are more precise with doing things like stopping bank robberies and things like that. But just some food for thought.

I think the reason of the existence of the sparrow academy is the meeting in the 60's. I mean since Reg saw them (except Ben) in the 60's and found out they will fail to save the world, he adopts other children from the 42. He writes down their powers (except Ben so he is in the sparrow academy) so he can figure out who to not adopt.

Allison is super underrated. She not only can manipulate people's actions but their reality too. Like when she rumored the military group to make their heads explode. I think Diego’s power is that he can manipulate objects that are moving with high momentum. Manipulating bullets drains a lot of energy, so he uses knives instead.

Davian Stewart Oh, just like, in the season finale, we saw this MASSIVE display of power from him that we hadn’t seen before in the CURRENT timeline so he definitely hasn’t explored the full extent of his abilities yet. Like he’s probably capable of SO much more than he thinks he is. (Especially considering the showrunner has confirmed that a) the siblings’ powers get stronger when they’re together and b) he wants to continue to expand all of their powers as the show goes on.)

@@stancinatti8198 he was still in the process of teaching 5. a rebellious act was out of his control. but think of the domino effect it must've had. if the team wasn't down one member on the mission where Ben died, Ben probably would've lived. In season one they hinted at a closeness between Five and Vanya, similar to that of Luther and Allison. with Vanya's power being so closely linked to her emotions, it's not a stretch to say that losing 2 brothers made training her more difficult, forcing Reggie to suppress it all things considered, she probably would've been totally fine if Luther hadn't decided to lock her up as an adult. think about all the progress she made controlling her powers with Jenkins, except for accidentally almost killing Allison. when she kills Jenkins tho, that was deliberate and demonstrated control if we were to assign culpability from most significant to least I'd say it goes: 1. Five for getting stuck in the future 2. Reggie for being a terrible father 3. Klaus for releasing the manual 4. Luther for locking Vanya up thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

You were spot-on when talking about how he alters the trajectory of his knives-but that’s also exactly what he did with the bullets. (Steve Blackman confirmed that to Den of Geek.) He’s not aerokinetic! Also, David confirmed that Diego doesn’t have all of his comic book powers in the show because they’re trying to ground the character. Just like they’re not going to give Klaus telekinesis or have him actually levitate, they’re not going to have Diego holding his breath underwater.

Diego might actually have telekinesis, what if similar to Allison, Hargreeve lead him to believe that he could only manipulate trajectory like Allison was lead to believe she had to preface “I heard a rumor.” It’s not the first time he’s limited their powers especially Viktor so what’s not to say he hasn’t unlocked his full potential which can possibly be telekinetic powers, like klaus in season 3

Number 5 from his time manipulation ability. If you think of it, it can do then just teleport and travel back in time. It may be able to least beeak a fabric of a universe to other alternative universes or dimensions. Or can even see all the other timelines of his world as long as he pleases if he was able to know the math.
