I actually take issue with saying Wonder Woman getting the Violet Ring is lame. "She got it because Woman" is bullshit. Wonder Woman's entire character was built on love and peace. Her getting the Violet ring makes the most sense in the world.

Wonder Woman has been portrayed as a more ruthless and violent character in some books (eg Kingdom Come, New 52 to some extent) which is probably what Ben is thinking of here.

+Ethan Marsh Granted I don't read too many DC books atm, but I did read the full run of the Brian Azzarello (Vol 1-6) run in the New 52 and she never came off as particulary violent and ruthless. Based on this version of Wonder Woman, I'm not sure why Sal felt the Violet Ring was lame. Love is a pretty strong emotion after all. For me the ring suited her pretty well.

It was really a big missed opportunity not bringing everybody back. It was a good story and DC could be use this story for relaunch instead of universe changing reboot. Actually Alan Moore's prophecy was about his Twilight of the Gods story but the deal didn't go throug. Instead the ideas used for this story and Kingdom Come.

Well, technically the original Black Hand wasn't a weirdo necrophiliac dude, that all came after Infinite Crisis. Originally he was just a dude from a nice, well respected family. He didn't like them, so he became a criminal. He had this device that could sap the energy from things. While initially just used to take the residual energy from GL's ring, the writers got more creative, like when he took the energy that protected Flash's body from his own speed. He also talked to the readers sometimes. Other than that, he was just a fun villain. Nowadays I hate him, but I love the classic stories.

I love this series! I noticed the werewolf thing at about 14 minutes where the hands change but only just now realized that the bandage from the beginning was because of the werewolf bite. :) I really like the line "It's because I'm Italian" that was awesome. I can't believe you guys are doing Blackest Night on back issues. It is my favorite comic event I have ever read. Funny thing is back in college my friends and I went to a small con. One of the free things I pick up while there was a preview comic that had all the lantern corps in it. I was so fascinated by them I researched Green Lantern comics which lead to this book and my love of Green Lantern and Geoff Johns.
