That's pretty cynical of you to say. Nostalgia is when you like something just because it's from the past and not because it holds any artistic or otherwise merit. Stop underpaying the genuine artistry of the time.
@allendrake69602 жыл бұрын
@@HOTD108_ That meaning may have been very recently implemented by some, but nostalgia in general is not defined that way. People nowadays cynically redefining nostalgia to mean "viewing the past through rose tinted glasses/enjoying something just because they grew up with it" doesn't necessarily mean that definition is being used when it's said.

51:20 I knew that, if I scrolled through the comments enough, I'd see I wasn't the only one who knew/didn't doubt that random acts of violence like that weren't outside of the realm of possibility or unheard of. I won't link anything. But, I will point out for anyone who is interested (for want of a better term, given the subject matter), acts of violence against homeless people, specifically against homeless men by groups/gangs of younger men, is a documented thing that currently happens in Japan at least frequently enough to be acknowledged by their government. I haven't looked too deeply into the matter, but I might do so because this point of the conversation definitely brought the issue back to the forefront of my mind.

I’m a little surprised that when Todd McFarlane and Frank Miller teamed up to do the Spawn/Batman crossover for image, they didn’t differentiate their book enough from DC’s by putting Batman in his Year One/ Legends of the Dark Knight costume. Because at this point in the 90’s, whenever Batman wore this costume in the comics, it was meant to imply that those books tended to carry a more mature tone. Whether it was for imprints like DKR, Legends of the Dark Knight, Elseworlds, other graphic novels…it always gave the stories more weight. Todd definitely should have used this to his advantage. As well as this book sold in the 90’s, imagine what kind of lasting impression it might have left on both DC and image with just a subtle shift in tone
