To my surprise, I enjoy the name Tempus Fuginaut. Mostly because of the language in it. "Tempus Fugit" means time flies. And "naut" is the suffix for explorers. So he's the explorer of passing times. But then, if you look at it again, "Tempest" means storm, and "Fugitive" means someone who needs shelter. So his name could also be "Seeker Of Shelter From The Storm".

The way I always assumed the Dark Multiverse worked was that each Earth was a copy of Earth Prime's timeline. Everything happened as it did in Earth Prime, UNTIL Azrael won the rematch with Batman. Everything happened the same way UNTIL Blackest Knight went horribly wrong, etc, etc.

You should do Dark Multiverse - Infinite Crisis. It works because the actual crisis (Alex Luthor bringing back multiple Earths) doesn't get to happen in the Dark Multiverse version. He's dead before he gets that far. In order for IC to happen, Alex Luthor needed his tower, plus raw MAGIC to power his tower, specific heroes, and the Universe had to be off it's axis (SBP was moving planets around in space). He was also counting on having access to Brother Eye. Ted shuts that down right quick. Ted has control of Brother Eye. He captures the society before they capture the Heroes. He stops the Spectre / Eclipso, so there's no fuel. He also stopped the war in space, so if any planets started moving around on their own, everyone would notice. I loved it.

Okay, but what if Batman did control Gotham. For years he's been secretly training a new Batman replacement and it was just the Dark Multiverse Terry McGinnis. Bruce shuts things down and launches a surprise attack on Jean Paul. He and Terry defeat him, but the trauma from years of captivity and body dismemberment leave him darker. He and Terry start their own reign, killing those who cause injustice in the Dark Multiverse. Good idea? Bad idea? I don't know, but it's an idea.
