Bro this is soo cool! I love the use of the light on the walls when they stop and talk, I love the writing so much, it almost seems like it wasnt scripted, very very realistic. I love the vibe of the film too, the textures and everything. The sound is great too! The use of the steadicam is beautiful too, flew soo soo well.

Thanks for watching! We shot in only available light, so we had to be careful with how we blocked the scene! As far as the writing, Vaughn Arterberry is extremely talented at crafting authenticity, be sure to check out his website and other work, “the space between” is one of my favorites as far as realism. Thanks again

Wow, so effortlessly good. I need the rest of the film and i need it to be at least 2hrs long. The acting really made it all jump off of the screen but everything else was in place for them to be able to do that. Amazing dialogue, very smooth and natural and a beautiful location with that long well lit path. And how could I forget the camera work was so good you don't even notice it's one take! Nicely done, very inspiring stuff.

I had a good chuckle when I saw that the young lady playing "Autumn" was named Summer. The focus is a bit off as others have said but on a single take night shoot tracking down a city sidewalk on FILM?? Impressive, honestly. Good work!

Thanks so much for taking the time to watch! It was pretty fun on set trying to remember and call her by her actual name. Focus was definitely a challenge for us, but my hopes are that that doesn't take away from the other elements that I believe make the film enjoyable. Thanks again.

Very nice. Of course the 500T is very noisy in the darker parts. It looks very smooth when well lit. Perhaps you should have used a light source for the faces. I'm probably not telling you anything new. Opening shots are out of focus. The background is much sharper than the actors' faces. Perhaps it's the lens? Anyway: I always applaud the effort shooting on real film. No immediate feedback, no monitor with all bells and whistles. Not for the meek. It would be great to know what camera and lens(es) you used. Thanks! Edit: camera work is great!

Thanks for watching! We definitely faced some challenges during this shoot, and while we weren’t able to overcome them all, I’m proud of the piece and glad you have the chance to watch and enjoy it! We shot on my SR2 with a 16mm Optar Illumina.

I didn't watch it, but I listened to it while at work and the dialogue was nice! A kind of mix of unrealistic "fiction" writing and realistic dialogue.

Amazing short! It was so authentic. This time vision 3 500t looked for me a bit like ektachrome. Did you underexposed this. If yes it was a great choice :)

Thanks for watching! It was 500T we went all natural light and wide open on our lens. The blacks are obviously “underexposed” but in the lit areas when the characters stop and talk, the exposure was right on.

In search of 16mm film use nowadays, I reached here. But this one piece is really adorable that I'm really grinning now out of pure happiness. I am a Korean movie maker and having a difficulty in using film because here we see no any film processors or developers. Even not sure I can find bolex cam. So I just wandering expecting no more than some footages withouth even storylines. But here is yours. I think the actors are also great. Have you ever done this film work? Before?

Fun fact! We actually reshot this scene for the feature version of the film and corrected every issue: faster glass, supplemental lighting, better audio, haha all of it. It’s important to learn from mistakes to get better and I’m glad this can be a place to demonstrate that.
@elias6707
@elias6707 9 ай бұрын
Well, I guess sometimes it's better to use more practical options. The idea was good, but there's too much grain and focus isn't on point most of the time. Besides, film is expensive. As practice is good to learn, but a mirrorles camera and post production film emulation could do better. Anyways, good luck on future projects!
