The prices are outrageous for an instant meal. There's a reason to eat sushi properly in a restaurant, where the price is justified by the atmosphere, server, etc. Sushi is a status symbol of pure luxury in the United States, unlike Japan. This is the equivalent of buying tartare and eating it in your car seat.
