I have a love/hate relationship with the Firestorm story. On one hand, I loved the characters from the previous campaign, and the loss of Umagon and the Kodiac was a bitter loss. On the other hand, I found Cortez to be a worthy successor, and that the fact that GDI needed both CABAL and Nod at various points to be an interesting twist. The missions were also more dynamic and interesting.

Wonder what happened with McNeil and why he was not on Kodiac, guess he was up on Philadelphia

@@CapralHarrison I think it's a safe assumption that after his victory in TS, he either got a promotion or was simply re-assigned to a different, more prestigious position / sector. A victory tour, rubbing shoulders with the greatest, sharing his experience with the others, etc. After all, he was the face of GDI during the war, I bet their propaganda made extensive use of the fact. Chandra who? It was McNeil running the show as far as everyone was concerned. So yeah, he was probably either up on Philadelphia or in a different, but equally high-level place, while Chandra got back to doing what he was best at - flying. According to the developers, they initially intended for him to die alongside the rest of Kodiak's crew in Firestorm, cause they no longer wanted to be tied to any specific "player characters". I guess that's why in Firestorm we're no longer McNeil / Slavik, but rather a nameless camera the latter talks to and gives out orders. Probably made it easier to shoot those cutscenes, too - just point the camera at the actor like in good old days and you're good to go. However, that's also why I kinda dislike cutscenes in Firestorm too when compared to Tiberian Sun. TS felt like a sci-fi TV show, and Firestorm feels, well... like a video game, lol.

@@Silver_Warden Given the fact he founds the Steel Talons according to C&C3 Kanes Wrath, there's reasonable odds he's officially being promoted to General and organizing his force, and if he's on the Philadelphia then he's cut off during the crisis.
