To answer your doubt about sam platforms and radars: The radar you are seeing separated from the sam itself are search radars Every sam battalion have its unique design, eg. an SA-5 has its own launchers, search radar and fcr With that said, if you destroy a search radar, yes, there may still be other means for the enemy to scan the area around them. Also, never forget about the good old Mk1 Eyeball

I know this is an old comment, but I've had the same questions regarding radars as he did here. So how would you go about targeting the SAM's FCR specifically, rather than the SAM itself, if it's radar is tied to the same unit as the SAM? Or can you not target the FCR of a SAM site?

@@Solo6R the case you are describing sounds like an SA8 or SA17, basically every vehicle is a self sufficient system able to scan, target and shoot. In that case you have to disable every single unit in order to eliminate the threat

In today's Warfare, the ability to destroy SAM sites and more importantly their radars is maybe the most important aspect behind logistics. Using missiles like HARM or AARGM to take our search and targeting radars to open up paths for air assault us crucial.

The time compression buttons for a minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, that sort of thing, are so you can tell CMO to only fast forward time by those amounts. "I only want time to be accelerated for 15 minutes before it slows down again." This is so you dont forget to get out of fast forwarding and just start losing ships and planes because of the scenario blasting by in accelerated time.

The AN/ALE-50 is a towed radar decoy. As for the F-16 being called the Viper, it was named, unofficially, by a test pilot who saw one flying low along the ground. He said it resembled a viper, hence the name.

This is actually a really interesting topic. Sometimes you can presume that a radar has been destroyed if its signal vanishes exactly when the missile impacts. Missile Defense stats are likely the weapon systems that it has the ability to target and intercept. The S-200 can target and intercept certain ASM systems, though I don't think that it has ever been put onto a surface ship. It would likely be shot down by smaller and faster ship mounted missiles or CWIS as a last resort but being that the Harpoon allows for BVR attack the S-200 could be used if given enough notice to obtain firing solution. The newer S-300 is on the Kirov class and used for this role.

People complaining about the price, remember this program has a professional version used by several militaries for simulation purposes. This game is the most in-depth and realistic sim out there. So if that’s what you’re looking for, it’s worth the price because you won’t be getting that level depth in just about any game.

If you own CMANO you can get CMO for 50% off. Given the complexity and detail of this game I personally think they could easily justify a $100+ price tag. Steel Beasts pro the most advanced tank simulator is $100+. This game is so fast and complex I think the price is justified, it's more of a simulation than it is a game in all reality. With that said I understand everyone has their own perception of value and budgets, the great thing is historically CMANO has been discounted pretty heavily at various times. It's probably asking a bit much to expect them to put it massively on sale less than a month after launch but eventually they will, if history is any judge.

It's also kind of similar to DCS. Whereas the base game is free, DLC vehicles are the same if not more expensive than AAA titles because of the sheer content they provide due to it being a simulation. I'm also hoping this game goes on sale, but I can understand the price.

Tacview is a completely separate product made by a completely separate company. Command offers support for tacview but strictly speaking it’s not part of the game. DCS flight sims or IL-2 both also integrate tacview and require separate purchases as well. There is a bundle on steam or the two products that does give you a discount.
@Claude-Eckel
@Claude-Eckel 2 жыл бұрын
Buy any (study) sim and get used to the prices. Be it DCS and one of its Professional Flight Model and Advanced Systems Modeling aircraft modules, or Il-2 Sturmovik, or PREPAR3D (the Academic License! Don't dare and ask for a Pro License, if 150 bucks are already _'ludicrous'_ for ya!), iRacing etc. The prices are all in the same ballpark. CMO makes no difference, quite the opposite, it costs you about 160 bucks tops. The aforementioned sims can cost you up to thousands! The fewer players a game has (thus the more it is a niche game), the higher the prices, since the expenses of the development are shared among fewer paymasters, right? Hope, that makes sense. It's dead simple. And you don't have to buy TACVIEW to use this sim. It's just for those who can't get enough or already have Tacview anyway, because most of the simmers have it and use it and who haven't got the advanced version yet, might now wanna reconsider and eventually upgrade to it. So, if CMO helped selling Tacview Advanced, then rest assured there was also an according deal made about it behind the curtain. Business as usual too. The predecessor Command: MANO had not even had this feature and yet worked perfectly fine as well.

there are a lot of missile systems that do not have individual radars. The most common SAM Systems have individual packages that cooperate, as in radar and launchers are separated. These are usually heavier missile systems and have a magnitude of longer range than your typical AAA battery

@Zsavage1 calling a game crap because its not for you is, well, quite ignorant at the least.
@MrCoolguy425
@MrCoolguy425 4 жыл бұрын
Zsavage1 this game is obviously not your type of game. If you do enjoy RTS it’s obviously not this niche Subgenre of it, considering most games under this subgenre are in fact very similar. Therefor you would be ignorant under an assessment of this particular game, also considering you didn’t give any insight to your opinion of it being “crap” and it apparently being a fact only highlights your ignorance. Whereas for me being arrogant while that may be true, it certainly is not because of me calling you ignorant on the subject. As for beta testing that fact does not give you expertise in the matter considering you did not give insight as of what you beta tested. As for the menu being terrible, it is in some regards but I’t does better than many main menus, as for navigation, this is quite a good example of navigation considering the complexity of the game and the tools it provides this games UI does a good job of giving clear information as of where the tools are located.
