Aqua learned Ghost Drive after fighting Vanitas, in one of the most hateful, spiteful fights in the entire series between two people that feel nothing towards the other aside from pure, utter contempt. Ghost Drive's teleportation is likely just copying Vanitas's fighting style, but the aura of darkness around her might be Aqua's hatred for the guy bubbling to the surface.

@ Lyon Cobalt Great analysis. I really wish she incorporated Ghost drive more in her boss fight. I know she teleports around and makes clones, but her fighting style is still more Spellweaver than Ghost driver(mainly because Anti Aqua is mostly a reskin of the Phantom Aqua fight). Since Aqua embraced the darkness at that point, I think she wouldn't care about using it as long as she could get results. Then again I also think Anti Aqua should've been introduced earlier and had more relevance in the story. She could've used her new powers of darkness to escape the RoD on her own and basically be a rouge party wreaking havoc on both the heroes and Xehanort throughout the story. I also thought Riku and Mickey should've had the Anti Aqua boss fight since they both have more of a connection with Aqua than Sora. But that's just my opinion.

My favorite part of Aqua's story in BBS is the second fight with Vanitas. The first time you fight him he taunts you and teleports around. But after you complete Deep Space you're able to learn the Teleport command, so by the time you fight him a second time you can turn the tides. (When you do a perfect block with teleport on you instead appear behind the enemy. And in the second fight you can pull it off on his first attack really easily. Catching him totally off guard. I always loved the visual of Aqua out maneuvering him.)

Dude, as someone who truly loves Aqua. I must THANK you for your hard efforts in getting Aqua's fighting style in style commands down to then tiniest of details. I was surprised at darkness being used in Ghost Drive, but I guess it's one way to explain the black orbs around Aqua in Ghost Drive. Though I absolutely love Spellweaver, the way she dances around the enemy makes her seem like a ballerina!

@@soralight_x BBS is a good game, definitely. It can be broken very easily but using a command deck system like they did they were bound to overlook some. The infinite dodge of Aqua and Ventus is bad though(Not sure why they didnt fix it in Final Mix) and the Superbosses are a painful task even at max level and optimizing commands(not including Surges because yay invincibility frames) when not abusing Aqua and Ven's dodges.

I really love how unique each of the command styles are for the Birth by Sleep trio. I do get why most people liked playing as Aqua and Ven more than Terra, but I honestly loved playing as Terra. I'm more into melee combat than magic, but you can be damn sure I won't pass up the opportunity to pull off a cool magic attack. All and all, there's never a dull moment with this game, and the Kingdom Hearts series as a whole.

I loved the wayfinder in 0.2, because it was a mix of Mickey's light and Aqua's. Before KH2 as in 358/2, playable Mickey's final limit was faith and it was beams of light rising from the ground that lanced foes, while Aqua had the light orbs. For 0.2 they had both

Maybe the merging of Lightbloom and Spell Weaver has something to do with the way it's tied to ice magic now? It makes sense to have the ice-based command style finisher have a figure skating-inspired finisher

The last part of the 0.2/3's version of Spellweaver's finisher is actually Aqua doing the Bailman's spin, an ice skating spin usually seen in short programs by females, though there are occasionally male skaters who could do a full Bailman's(an example was Michael Martinez from the Philippines, cough -my country- .) though most males only do a half Bailman, only having the lower half of the leg raised. The earlier part is a sit spin, commonly seen in almost all short programs. Basically, Aqua temporarily becomes a skater when she does her Spellweaver finisher. I love it. Also, with this, Aqua seems to be actually worthy of her Master title. Though I'm curious: Aqua can use Spellweaver in all BBS, 0.2 and 3, but Ghost Drive *has* darkness appearing around and is only in BBS, while Wayfinder is only with Mickey in 0.2. I theorize though that Wayfinder is somewhat Aqua's devotion and care for Terra and Ven that powers it, along with Mickey's guidance and help. Quick Edit: Sorry for not commenting on the earliest time I can watch this, went out on a trip to visit a dead relative. -i like aqua's fighting style-

Low crouch with leg extended forward: Cannonball spin (a type of sit spin) Vertical split while spinning: Biellmann spin At least, thats what I could recognize them as. cmiiw

Ghostdrive may represent that Aqua still have darkness in her heart but unwilling to use or succumb to it unless necessary. Unlike Ven (lacks darkness due to Vanitas) or Terra (willing succumb and freely use it). Good observance at the different Spell Weavers. I thought NOBODY noticed. (Pun Unintended) Why does Wayfinder reminds me of D-Link Mickey or Team Mickey and Aqua vs Ven-nitas when they "join forces"?

1.In all kh games japanese ports spell weaver is called "Magic Wish" while in english it's called spell weaver 2.aquas ghost drive cartwheel doesen't have infinite invicnibility frames like the basic has Making thunder very dangerous to use in misteryous figure fight Also ghost drive command style attack style is very similar to "Time Splicer" command where awua teleports around enemies attacking them the same way as in ghost drive but in time splicer she casts stopga/stopza before attacking whic she doesent do in ghost drive Also in kh 0.2 and 3 awuas spell weaver's 1 hit does multiple hits unlike birth by sleep where it does only 1 And in kh3 and 0.2 awuas spell weaver's finish doesent do as many hits as the birth by sleeps does Ii n kh bbs the finisher of spell w does multiple hits very fast while in kh3 and 0.2 it does 1 hit per second. Oh god i know so much about kh

Ghost Drive is actually a subtle foreshadowing at its best. Literally, every bit of it is some kind hint towards Aqua’s eventual fate. Best shown in the Aqua creating afterimage copy’s of herself, and how it is the only Command Style capable of executing a full combo without an attack target. Each of these both foreshadowing and symbolizing Aqua fighting “herself” in the battle against Phantom Aqua. Now, to a lot of people it might seem kind of unlikely that the developers thought that far ahead and that I’m just reading into this too much, but I would just like to remind everyone again that this is Kingdom Hearts arguably THE franchise with the most hidden lore and foreshadowing toward future events, possibly ever made. So it is definitely not out of the question that such symbolism was entirely intentional.

wettymeister yeah it looks cool but it can be dangerous in certain situations especially at level 1 due to imperfect invulnerability frames compared to max level cartwheel. Too many unfair deaths from Red Eye 😑

There is a glitch when using Ghost Drive. Air slide into a pixie dust orb in Neverland and Aqua will turn invisible. Aqua reappears if you dodge roll or air slide again while Ghost Drive is still active. If it runs out, you'll remain invisible until you move to another map.

Did you know that aqua in bbs has the best movement? She can block midair as well as 360° People who complain bout cartwheeling into block, i understand you it takes forever but u can cheese.it by cartwheeling taking one step after cartwheel and then block, works wonders, u can also practis tap jumping into airslide and then after airslide into succsesful cartwheel, the trick is to be as low as to the ground as possible to perform ice slide into instant cartwheels, very useful if u want to dodge/use ice slide on superbosses. Also aquas spellweaver deals immense damage and works wonders against super bosses, u can also keep ur combos by cartwheeling atleast once this allows u to create more satystfing combos for instance: u all like aquas finisher combo where she aerial spins into enemy on ground after doing a finisher, yeah u can do that even near enemy the trick is to cartwheel away from the enemy and then do the finisher, ghost drive sacrifices dodgeroll i-frames for damage output and longer dodges, in no heart fight aquas ghost drive is completly safe to use, and no need to use surges or anything fancy like aerial slams, i use deagult eraly game-mid game commands like fire dashes, 1 curaga, aeroga and thats it aeroga is for going into spellweaver, however if u wamt damage equip more aerogas on ur deck for sky climber, sky climber needs good dodges tho, also use multi-fast hit finish commands.on no heart these do more damage than magic volleys and ect

I’m a little disappointed that they never gave Aqua a third unique Command Style in BBS, you could have easily given her a Water based style like how Riku did in DDD. In fact, why did it take them so long to introduce Water into the series in the first place? You had a character named AQUA in BBS, and yet you didn’t give her access to her namesake element!? Terra and Ventus got Quake and Aero, respectively, they even got Meteor and Tornado, WHY NO WATER UNTIL KH3!!?? Well at least they bothered to introduce it in KH3, and were about to in 0.2 before deciding against it, so that kind of makes up for it, sort of. Hopefully the next time Aqua is a main playable character, they give her a Water based Command Style LIKE SHE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN IN THE FIRST PLACE, in addition to Spell Weaver and Ghost Drive. With how advanced the combat has gotten in KH3, it’ll definitely be worth experimenting with in future titles.

It’s somewhat odd to me that Aqua doesn’t have a style reflects her associated element of water, similar to Terra’s Rockbreaker and Ven’s Cyclone. Only styles that represent her fighting style (Spell Weaver, contrasting Critical Impact and Fever Pitch), where she stands in the light~darkness spectrum (Ghost Drive, contrasting Dark Impulse and Wingblade), and a team attack (Wayfinder).
