They were just bad chaos decks. Good ones end the game, while still sowing chaos. For example, I have a Zedruu deck that runs Shared Fate and Windfall effects, forcing everyone to play everyone else's deck and anyone who plays your cards, speeds up your ability to take and play their cards. And because people are less likely to take your cards because of Zedruu, if anyone ever destroys Shared Fate, you are the least effected. Also, Thantis is great as a chaos commander that forces combat, and because of that, games tend to be rather short.

@@AhranMaoDante I like to think that there aren’t any bad decks in commander, just decks trying to do certain things on their own power level. While these decks may have been less powerful then the one you proposed, calling them “bad” is just disrespectful.
@AhranMaoDante4 жыл бұрын
@@noodlewizard1852 They are bad because most of them didn't build a chaos deck, they just threw random chaos cards into a deck they already had. Even low power decks in commander that are properly built, would have done better. If I'm disrespectful for calling the thrown together decks bad, then surely anyone who has a negative opinion of some sort when it comes to EDH or certain cards, is equally as disrespectful. Which, considering how many people hate Chaos, Infect or Land destruction to the point they'd refuse to play against such, means those people are all just as disrespectful of people that do enjoy those decks as I am being, in your opinion, towards Tomer and friends. Right? Right? If you can't tell, I'm extremely petty towards people/comments that are made with no thought. And clearly, putting down an opinion as "disrespectful" is made without thought. Disagreeing with an opinion is one thing, but to put it down? Tsk, tsk. Surely you should know better, especially now.
@noodlewizard18524 жыл бұрын
@@AhranMaoDante My point is you can make a chaos deck however you want to. A deck doesn’t have to be properly built and do good in game to be fun to play with your friends. In my opinion it is disrespectful to call a deck bad because you think it wasn’t built correctly, and there are better ways to do it. If that were the case, half the decks in my LGS are terrible. But that’s not the point of commander. The point is to have fun with your friends, which they did. To repeat what I said before: There are no bad decks in commander, only decks that are trying to accomplish their own goal. And that’s what these decks did. I made my comment with thought, and to voice my own opinion. You can have yours, and that’s ok.

Ruhan's ability says that he must attack a random opponent if able. If he's unable to attack that opponent, then his own ability has no effect and there is nothing keeping Ruhan from attacking a different player at that point (aside from other cards restricting combat, like assault suit or Pramikon).

I've watched dozens of episodes of Commander Clash, quite possibly hundreds of hours, and this was hands down the funniest, most absolutely entertaining episode ever. I laughed so much that I hurt. I stayed up multiple hours too late because I couldn't stop watching this. This is the epitome of casual magic with friends - a game where no one really wins, where anything can happen, where it takes computers to sort out the ridiculous trigger orders/replacements and obscure card interactions. This is how I want my casual games to go as long as people will put up with them, just a few friends hanging out, having a great time, wondering what nonsense will come from the decks next. Thank you for indulging us with this, it was wonderful.

For what it's worth- I know you guys mentioned here and also on a post that you're running out of new unexplored ideas. Here's a couple ideas if you want any more! It'd be cool if you went back to specific sets and chose commanders you either missed or want to try to rebuild with newer cards/revenge style. Personally I would love to see Kaladesh 2 electric boogaloo. Having an "old boogeymen" week could be cool, featuring Derevi, Nekusar, original Niv-Mizzet, Oloro, Prossh, all those scary guys people used to be scared of before wizards started making the chulanes and korvolds and nonsense. Revisiting monocolor weeks could be cool! It's been a minute since you did that (plus you could preemptively ban circle of protection white) Community colors week maybe? Find a way for the community to vote for each color combination each player has to use (the best way to force crim to not play grixis) Just some ideas if you're all still looking! But honestly, even if you were just doing anything goes every week, I'd keep watching. Your group dynamic and personalities have always been the main reason I watch, not the silly themes (though those are always fun!)
@TheAwakeOrangutang4 жыл бұрын
Gonna go ahead and say, those Old Boogeyman decks are no less terrifying for Chulane and his ilk's existence. What they do is still powerful and they also benefit from getting new goodies. Just because the new stuff is busted doesn't make the old good stuff less good.

Watching you guys suffer together brought tears of laughter to my eyes as I watch Seth turn 9 with 2 lands. Listening to crim tease Seth about his sever lack of lands was the funniest in the context that crim is notorious for not having that many lands. The boom pile flips were amazing!!! The 3rd boom pile activation that Richard called "I never lose" was the most magical moment in the game. Like its one thing to win a flip, but to proclaim the flip. It was another level of entertainment. When Seth just suddenly lost I was just as surprised as every one else and busted out laughing when we figured out that all that was during his upkeep 😆 thank goldfish crew for subjugating yourselves to such hilarity. Please please please do this again in a few years, hell I'd love to see it next year.

@LukeSciarappa4 жыл бұрын
AFAICT, if Ruhan can't attack the player that its ability chose (for any reason), its controller may choose whether it attacks and what player or planeswalker it attacks if it does, still obeying any other restrictions. (In this case, Assault Suit still means it can't attack its owner, and Pramikon means it can't attack any players other than the next one in the chosen direction. So e.g. on the first turn where this came up, Seth could attack Crim or not attack at all, no other choices.)

Instead, Crim plays Narset/Notion Thief+Wheels and other punisher cards. He creates such a bad tension a third of the way thru the game that lasts until the end bc no one has the usual answers.
