Typically the background house noises come from Jen's side (she has a dog and all that. And as someone who has recently made someone go full tilt salty, I can guarantee you that Tom was legit pissed for a while.

Honestly anyone who comes off a 13 hour shift is not going to have the patience of a saint. Add to the fact that he was struggling on lands for so long, is it any wonder that he was frustrated with Tomer's play? I get that it may have been a little excessive but I think people need to cut him a teensy bit of slack.

Also, I don't think Tom would keep up the abacus as vigoriously as Tomer does. Tomer, on the other hand, seriously expects Tom to do so. I think it was Jen on her stream at some point, who mentioned that they generally don't bring prison decks to Commander Clash, because they are unfun to watch. She was right, as Tomer's Child of Alara deck proved. Yes, showing off the door combo is a thing, but with a deck like that you usually don't get to that point because your opponents will scoop long before you get anywhere near setting it up. They just didn't here because it was a recorded game.

I don't think MTGO has 5 player commander - it can barely handle 4. And Seth isn't here because he doesn't want to be - he is the LAST person Richard (the owner of MTGGoldfish) would want to leave and almost certainly would much rather have Seth in his place just for purely financial reasons.

I recommend watching a few games from Tom's perspective (go.twitch.tv/mtgradio/videos/all), like those during the live Commander Clash games. Most of the time he understands what's going on and why players make certain moves. He only gets annoyed when players do "obviously" wrong things. In this case Tomer *randomly* countered Tom's ramp spell, instead of looking for something that actually poses any kind of immediate threat. Tom had been essentially inactive for the last 20 minutes at that point, while Richard Reckoner-looped himself to 200 life and Jen kept on doing her Meren shenanigans.

i dont agree with that sentement letting someone get that much mana gives them a huge advantage, i play all the ramp and as butt hurt as id be if they were countered id understand as it can really change the course of the game. now im not saying that its always the correct play but doubling your lands is huge.

Well, maybe it's just that Tomer played an unfun deck in the first place. Locking down the game with Child of Alara isn't quite the thing people (players and viewers alike) want to see just to literally show someone the door.

Never assume from your own position. I loved Tomers deck and i love to see these kind of things. My favourite commander-clash games are the "mono-red-random" and "azorious-stax" episodes... And Seth slowed down the WHOLE game with a very fast humility... It's not for everyone, granted, but there are people that enjoy watching control.

Despite some comments, I know it's the first episode of the season but I already love the player setup. Jen is a bit too spiky for my taste but that's about the only complain I have. Keep up the good work guys! XD

Don't think that was a mtgo fail. Since Tomer had control over Jen's turn he needed to have a stop on his own end step. He only had one on opponents end step, which when controlling Jen is his own end step. That's why he couldn't do anything.

Tomers argument was "There is a difference between being able to cast your spells or setting up for a big win", when he himself was at like 25 mana from lands. I mean you are kidding me right? Just let Tom get to his 10 Lands or whatever, I think there were much more relevant things to counter.

I love that commander! Jen, good deck, but just a Meren deck. I guess that's not why most of us are watching. Richard and Tomer: amazing decks. Loved them both. Tomer Abramovici yeah it is but there aren't many cards that free roll ld i play them in my decks like into the maw of hell of red command. But people aren't typically trying to mana screw each other so they tend not to play them. I've had people scoop while having 8 mana and me killing a land. It's more a perception thing than a reality.

I have to say Tom's reactions (particularly to Tomer, he doesn't seem as bad to others) are starting to make this really uncomfortable to watch. I get it, Tomer did some broken things this episode, but it was Anything Goes and he made a really cool deck, plus Tom had like zero interactivity in his deck - if you want to stop things like this you have to put some in. It also seems he's way less salty when anyone else does anything in Commander Clash. If this had been Jen or Richard he would be less rude IMO. It's just getting kinda tiring. I was actually going to build a deck really similar to Richard's, so it was so cool to see it in play :) If he was running green Tamanoa is a really cool card for this deck :3

Actually Tom has been salty towards Jen the entire previous season. Every other play, he claims someone is being nonsensical (in a somewhat more polite/non offensive way); and Tomer more often than not acts seemingly nonsensical. I don't mind any of it, I think it's entertaining.

It seems that Tom takes every play against him personally. Dude needs to calm the fuck down and just have fun. This seems to happen every fucking game and it's getting very irritating. My group of friends always screws one another over and even have grudge vendetta but it's all in good fun. Smoke a blunt Tom you need it.

What interactive cards do you propose in Gruul versus a recurring boardwipe and counterspells? It was more a case of a deck that is mostly ramp and didn't get to ramp. I play a similar Warp Wort deck and the main problem is that everybody assumes that you're going to use your mana to double comet storm. Tom could just have said that he wasn't going to burn everybody's face and then maybe Tomer wouldn't have countered the only solid piece of ramp Tom got in the game up to that point.

Tomer should've/would've used Swan Song earlier anyway had he left it open as he pointed out in editing. Swan Song was losing value fast, he played correctly. Tom got angry, of course, who wouldn't? People are getting to play as they planned and you aren't, then when you get an out, someone foils it? It's frustrating. Tom calmed down later and pretended to have never said things he said. I guess it's the best we can ask of someone who got to such a crushing recording after other real, long work hours. Could he at least try to be less passive-aggressive? Maybe. "I'm not a horrible player" was definitely inelegant.

Rodrigo Silva I don't think he was pretending to have never said those things (he know that its being recorded after all) - I think he was so angry in the moment he later didn't remember what exactly he'd said. I agree with pretty much everything else you say, tho (especially your point that he had just worked 12 hours (in an ER? I know he's a nurse, if it is an ER then 12 hours (he changed it to 13 later) there is brutal) and was probably not in the best state of mind to play a game of commander).

I actually really disliked this episode a lot, not because of the decks or how it was played but just purely on the fact of the pure saltiness of Tom. Tom always rages on Tomer too, making bad plays, those plays are dumb and so on. This really gets annoying and makes me start to really dislike tom in commander clash and thus not enjoy watching commander clash. I do however enjoy other games even though there is saltiness from Tom, but not to the point of bursting out and raging at Tomer. I think Tom really needs to try and keep his emotions in check more, because like I mentioned early, this is really starting to diminish commander clash as a whole.
