I agree with most points in this video and I do like the bans.

Ban Mana Crypt but not Soul Ring? I don't play Magic since 1999 but this was totally insane.

They’re effectively the same card one is slightly slower…. They wanted to get rid of consistent explosive plays, not all explosive plays

They probably didn't want to ban a card that's in nearly EVERY pre-con either (Sol Ring).

It's not "The game" It's maleficence.

I feel like that would only be true if their intentions were to tank the market and make people lose a ton of money. Obviously that's what the results of the banning was but I don't think they would have made the decision to do it unless they truthfully thought the game would be better off without them. I can't imagine them sitting around the room with their evil pinkies out all manically laughing about this decision.

I disagree, I think this is bad all the way around.

Price tags…. Should never be a reason to be banning cards. Anything that doesn’t destroy the gameplay(i.e. Shaharazad) and ante cards…. Shouldn’t be banned in the 99. 99 cards… you hardly ever get the consistency in the 99 without tutoring, etc. It’s silly. If you want to play casual, then you bring casual decks. Banning them like this is a strictly feelings based, vindictive angry about the cEDH RC talk banning. It’s the worst bans I’ve seen since the inception of bans. I’ve been around for all of them…

I do wish they would bring back "banned as commander" instead of just flat bans. I also think they need to bring back limited bans instead of flat out banning cards. Having one copy of a powerful card in your deck in non singleton formats is not a problem. I dont think this was a vindictive banning. i think they were just trying to slow the format down a bit and hit the most offensive spiky cards.
