I myself have picked up Mana Crypt and Jeweled Lotus recently. Haven't even gotten to play them yet. If only I knew they were going to be banned I would have waited instead of spending almost $400.

That sucks man, I’m sorry. No single game piece should ever cost more than a couple of bucks. This is unfortunately what happens when capitalism turns a card game that people love into a stock market. It makes the game less accessible to its most loyal players, and helps rich a-holes get even richer.

Dude I almost got another mana crypt of the new art. I could have traded in the two that I already owned too. I am a big fan of magic, but I hate the way wizards, and the commander comitee, have chosen to handle things for the last few years.

I don't agree with the RC's decision to ban them, but I respect their decision and understand their reasoning. It was kinda a kick in the balls to ban all of them at the same time, and as someone who owned more than one of these cards, I'm pretty upset. I'm also glad to hear a lot of other people's opinions on the matter, and I'm glad to see you joining the conversation

This is why I'm a patron of IHYD, some of the best games I've played have been on this discord. Everyone has fun, everyone talks about our decks. I can tell you if you jam a game with me lotus and crypt are good with me.

The reasoning behind limiting the "fast mana" is not being honest. And why are we now being told how to play one of the most creative games out there? I have seen several commander decks built by different people that play totally different!. But now the RC has deemed that every one must now enjoy and only play 12 turn games or more!?!?!?

@ihateyourdeck because of rule zero is the only reason I'm not giving up mtg. But I'll tell you what, proxies will be my only way of going in the future. It financially hurts especially with cards at this price point. Cheers! Always enjoy your content. Keep it up!

Started 6 months ago, got the lotus for my Tiamat deck 2 months ago and felt finally like a powerhouse. Now I just learn the single most expensive card I got is banned out of nowhere and no way to get something decent in return. I feel like I got robbed a 100$.

As someone who’s recently moved I mostly play with strangers. Problem is some people are dishonest about the power of their deck during rule 0. Shocking I know, but some people lie. I wish it weren’t so but that’s the reality of the situation.

My main issue with this ban, is the reasoning behind having "5 mana on turn 2" as the main argument for the ban. Ancient tomb and a talisman, sol ring and an arcane signet, these things also give 5 mana on turn 2. Why is this the only reason they are giving for the ban??

Banning Nadu, sure yeah go ahead. But banning Lotus, Crypt and Dockside should not of for the reasons of them "Stopping fast mana" but not banning Sol Ring. Rule 0 fixes many issues even with strangers. Its as simple as "Hey I got X in this deck you cool?". Such a dumb banning this round.

Seems kinda pointless with Sol and Dark Ritual etc still legal.. and people who don't like these cards would already have them rule 0'd. Might as well just have no bans tbh even though I think these are good healthy bans for the format, still so many other questionable cards that could easily be argued for a ban as well.

Everyone can still play these cards lol. The RC isn’t going to kick down your door take them out of your decks and make you tear them up. Honestly these bans are extreme enoughI think ppl will see how silly a ban list is in a social format and let ppl experiment with the old cards banned years ago when games took 12 turns.

Awful, dreadful, wildly out of touch decision. RC is basically saying we can’t trust you to be adults and maintain a social contract, so now play only our vision of Timmy themed battle cruiser I’ve not played in forever because I have very limited time. Every time I go play I do pay to play at an LGS. I want to play 4 games in around 3 hrs. I want to go hard and fast. I have no interest in seeing Timmy durdle out a 3/6 Elvish Iguana in his GEICO themed meme deck for three hours instead of playing a few decks. This is a horrible, horrible decision; they’re yucking someone’s yum because of pub stompers. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The mana rocks were fine. This was clearly an overreach. I have never had an issue with any mana rock. There are so... many artifact destroying cards out there. Carry removal. And demand that cedh, and edh, are kept seperate.

I saved up and bought my first mana crypt, a foil judge promo, and I only play commander. It's a card that makes me proud, and I've only drawn it and played it 2-3 times, useless to me now.

Terrible ban imo. Glad I quit the game. IHYD is the only MTG content I still bother to watch. The games and personalities are top notch and you never know what kinda game youre going to get. If I had a play group like this, I might have still tried to learn the game and play more.

Also, as someone who preferred not to proxy cards when I was playing, I would now have 0 qualms about using proxies for everything under the sun. No sense in supporting a market that can be squashed at will by a rules committee.

I think the bans are great. All of the commander shows I watch on youtube will be more interesting without these cards. The whole "rule 0" argument works both ways. Rule zero these cards back in if you want. It doesn't matter... but I AM happy I won't see these on KZbin, at LGS, or on Spelltable. These cards are way overtuned. I hope they continue banning fast mana. I have already taken Sol Rings outta my decks...
