it's not his "outlap" that's amazing, it's ALL the laps he does. the trajectories he takes are perfect every time. he almost never makes a mistake, he puts the car in places where it seems like it won't go. this driver is amazing.

To me this isn’t just a “wow this guys is also a good sim racer” thing, it’s a reflection of how good his mental game is. Doing two huge competitive events like this simultaneously could be a massive distraction from each other, but instead it shows how unreal his mental management is to compartmentalize each event and perform at his best in both. Everyone always talks about the RB car being the reason Max wins so much (it helps for sure) but I think he’s just on an entirely different level when it comes to his mental game and thriving on pressure.

Seriously there isn't any argument anymore that Verstappen is on the F1 Mount Rushmore. Argue over the other 3 if you like. But he is definitely on it. One thing that he has that is uniquely his, counted among the greatest to have ever done it. Is he is competing at the highest level even on a SIM. Where truly the ONLY thing you can rely on is yoir racecraft. For him to be as dangerous against the best SIM drivers in the world really speaks volumes about how he ranks ALL TIME!

(6 years) I've dug down through every catalog of documentary and watched all I could get my hands on, full seasons of races from F1TV, through to anything one could find on YT. LH rookie season. All seven of Schumachers championship seasons. Sebs era pf dominance. Why Prost V Senna is what it is to the sport, and it height at McLaren in 88. But this name *Jim Clark* comes up often. I feel a Jim Clark deep dive coming on. Can't wait peel apart that onion.

Max is the goat, his style is the perfect blend of Schumacher Senna mentality/skill set while throwing in his own flavor of being absolutely robotic and unphased by anything that happens. Just a pure racer that wants nothing more then to best the absolute best he can possibly be at his craft. He would never call himself the goat as he is far to humble and always shows respect to the older generation, but personally hes my pick.

There's a lot to learn from this on preserving speed always. His lines are so precise at just maintaining as much speed as possible, and his wheel movement is so quiet. It's like he lets the car do the least work possible to achieve speed. Really cool to see.

Watched F1 for 20 years and never miss a race. Strangely this one video has made me now actually accept Max is on another level. To also do it in a sim with no G load this perfectly shows his raw talent. Considering Hamilton in comparison admits he doesn't really entertain the idea of "sim work". Says why he's taking a bucket list job at Ferrari next year, whilst Max is re writing the record books every season. Unreal talent.

something i find fascinating watching F1 drivers drive is the gear changes and or holding certain gears. Also how they might change down gears mid corner, i will often set up the car/ gear going into a corner then make the corner in that gear.

Dude just throes the car into corners getting all the limits of grip lol. He makes me realize most of us turn in to little out of fear of snapping or losing grip. He's found that perfect edge where he can just turn in like crazy with just the right speed and come out crazy fast. Instead of doing what alot of us do taking the longer line trying to hold speed when we should be lifting off a little more turning in a little tighter and coming out that much faster.
