Very informative! Just like with iron, highly pure Ti isn't useful for the vast majority of applications. Tiny amounts of foreign elements, which disrupt the crystalline structure, are necessary to give titanium the properties it is known for.

Hey Michael! Love your videos! Just a question. Do you think thermal oxidation is the best method of giving titanium its colour changing effects in terms of elemental resistance and physical durability? If so, do you have any recommended ways on achieving "gold" pure titanium consistently? Thanks! Keep up the amazing videos!

Anodizing would give a more consistent and also more reproducible color to the titanium. Lots of ways that heat can produce a spotty looking color on a single part.

I bought a sheet marked CP-3 but the company says it’s grade 1…no, right?
@MichlinMetals Жыл бұрын
I would have to see the MTR but I believe CP-3 is grade 2. Again just depends on what is actually on the test report.

Hey, which grade of Titanium would you advice me to use for producing bolts to my moyorcycle. Thx for answers

Titanium has no advantage for bolts over steel and would cost a ton to buy / make.

Hey, I am trying to start a jewellery brand with earring hooks that are of highest quality and very very hypoallergenic. What grade of titanium do you recommend? (I was thinking of purchasing titanium wire and hand-moulding the ear hooks) Also, how can I get it colored into shades like- rose gold, champagne gold, yellow gold, shiny silver, gun metal etc? I read somewhere that titanium being an atypical type metal doesn't hold electroplating very well, so I am just a little lost here..

Metals for Jewelry are often selected for intrinsic color. Applied colors are not very durable in both manufacture and use and complicate matters when trying for hypoallergenic use. Thin layers of applied metals are expensive, but Titanium would be an acceptable base. Since you are just starting out, we would suggest you start with readily available suppliers of Titanium jewelry wire since custom materials would be very expensive.
