My husband personally identifies with NPD. I do most of the parenting because if emotions get high (which happens often in children) my husband can dysregulate and react like another child. But he is working hard to heal and grow. He has a calm approach and does his best and he removes himself if it's best. I know my husband feels these things you listed because he was the child of abuse. My son isn't suffering abuse. This is what children in abuse feel, it is not what children of narcissists specifically feel. You can suffer from npd and not abuse your children and you can abuse your children without npd.

I have a Family full with narcisists in all kinds.. the only People they treat well are the Person that are just they are, only between narcisists.. the violence against the People with real empathy (Not the Cognitive Fake empathy from the Narcisist) kann vary between verbal Agression.. till you find also the beating.. and worse..

Thank you very much for the above video, Sarah. I am not a professional psychologist or counsellor, but I strongly suspect that some of the negative core beliefs you mentioned in the video primarily result from the narcissistic parents’ failure or refusal to honour their children simply because they exist; hence their contempt for their offspring. Contempt invariably results in loathing of the self and/or others. Virtually all children of narcissistic parents hold themselves in low regard. Years of delving into spirituality have led me to a crucial insight; which might just explain exactly why self-love/esteem seems almost impossible to realise & demonstrate. I rather suspect that the real foundation of all self-disgust/hatred is the hard-core disbelief in & intense hostility towards the (spiritual) truth that everyone is worthy of respect simply because they exist. Existence itself alone is the basis & proof of worthiness. Unfortunately, the vast majority of humanity (including myself) find it easy to praise a saint but extremely difficult to respect a sinner or a criminal, because most human beings believe that actions/performances are the (sole) determinant of worth. Moreover, mainstream culture in the modern world does NOT encourage judging ONLY the wrong or evil conduct at issue but not the accused/convicted person(s).

It sounds like you get off on being abused. Like you are doing mental gymnastics on why it was/is acceptable for people to abuse others because it's only the actions fault, not the person. I'll put money on your parents being abusive to you. It's not only acceptable to judge people for their actions because those are choices they made which shows their character, but also because the Truth will set you free. It is acceptable to protect yourself from abusers. It is not only acceptable, it is the right and righteous thing to do.
