I am curious if any of my 8th Grade Torrance school classmates works for Robinson Helicopters. I lived in Torrance in 70/71. The school I attended has since been torn down.

WowWowWow Meagan reminds me of a beautiful girlfriend I had in 1981 and 1982. Only difference is my GF was a brunette, but other than that they look so alike, that it make me a little emotional, and brings back so many wonderful memories. My goodness, I need to get a hold of myself. Whew!!!!!!!

I enjoyed the video but how in the world can you be taken seriously when you're filming in 480 resolution? Even in 2015 back then you should be a 1080 especially trying to promote something.

Am I the only one who thinks Robinson helicopters look really goofy because of that 4 foot tall main rotor cowling?

The only thing missing is fully articulated rotors. Semi rigid rotors are somewhat dangerous.

Only the pilot is dangerous, Bell Hiller Robinson don't get ground resonance - Enstrom Hughes Sikorsky Colibri do and the helicopter will tear itself apart. Plus the two bladed system is less expensive, simpler, easier to hangar

Not I, I would rather have a Enstrom or Hughes any day of the week!!!! You do know that Frank R stated many many times that the R22 was not designed, nor ever intended to be a trainer. The numbers sure provide that data as well!!

After that period of time or flight hours (witchever comes first) you have to overhaul the aircraft and you will have an aircraft as good as new.

It's about control of the product. Engineering 101 3x design life I've seen an R-22 in the late 80s go 6,000 hours before the 12 year limit ever started. A big No No

They were pioneers but now they are falling back. A low inertia 2 bladed rotor is not the best for training. Mast bumping and mast rocking have caused many accidents. Many other companies are coming out with 3 or more bladed, elastomeric type rotor designs cheaper then the R44. Robinson needs to step it up or they will be left behind.
@lookingforwookiecopilot
@lookingforwookiecopilot 4 жыл бұрын
Unless those cheaper, 3-bladed designs have a back seat, Robinson has nothing to worry about.

You can park many two-bladed helicopters in the same footprint as one 3 or 4 bladed helicopters. Robinson Helicopters fill a void that very expensive Helicopter manufactures left behind. You can buy one New Bell Jet Ranger, or you can buy 6-R22, and 2-R44. or 1-R66 and 3-R22's for the same cost of one Bell!
@user-jq2rf4nf3o
@user-jq2rf4nf3o 10 ай бұрын
Low inertia isn't a problem - RPM lost is quickly gained back; Bell has mast bump A heavier blade RPM lost isn't gained back as quick Ever heard of Droop stop pounding? Articulated systems have issues too. Fly more talk less The Hughes blade is lighter then an A-22 blade, No issues
@laz288
@laz288 10 ай бұрын
Low inertia rotors are the problem as they unforgiving for pilots with little training as it requires you to react quicker, when they don't they panic and do a low G pushover and then a possible mast bump. Higher inertia rotors would have given then inexperienced pilot more time to react. You should fly more and Google much less. @@user-jq2rf4nf3o

Too bad Robinson is ruining their reputation by not redesigning their mast and rotor control the keep these otherwise wonderful helicopters from cutting their tails off, allegedly.
