Which is correct? has anyone of you got this? Or have anyone of you got this?
@ellenc.10936 жыл бұрын
The "Any" indefinite pronouns CAN be used in positive sentences not just for questions but also to mean "whichever person/place/thing." For example, "You can invite anyone to the party." or "I would go anywhere with you."

Hello, " Miss Rebeca" After ten years , I come here to thank you for shooting this video again. I still remember asking to shoot It. I learned a lot from you . I used to watch your videos before teaching my students. I am Ricardo Almeida. I used to email you. I have watched your videos again and you have kept it up! Thanks again. Hugs from Brazil.

Nice summary, but there are more uses of the 'any' words. They can also be used to express potential, as in 'She can do anything', 'Bring anyone you want to the party' or 'In my car we can go anywhere.'

Finally, if I say SHE WILL GO SOMEWHERE TOMORROW, I am stating that she has plans to go to a place tomorrow. But if I say SHE WILL GO ANYWHERE TOMORROW, she does not really care to what place to go. The speaker or any listener can choose the place for her, because she will go.

In Canada we spell no-one with a dash, because anyone, someone, and everyone are all single words (or) one word, so why would no-one be written as two words? No-one is always spelled with a hyphen.

Also, as Waderiver said, 'some' and 'any' words can be used contrastively in similar sentences to express specificity. 'I want to go somewhere' means there's a specific place I want to go'. 'I want to go anywhere' means I want to go somewhere, but I don't mind where. You can also way, for example, 'I'd rather be anywhere than here', 'I'd rather do anything than die', or 'I'd rather be stuck in a lift with anyone except you.'

By saying that any is used for questions she seems to imply that some is not. The following question would be correct if maybe used in a bank: Can I see someone about my account? WHERE AS Can I see anybody about my account implies that you would even consider speaking to the cleaner and not necessarily someone who is qualified to help you.

Can I use: "do you need somenthing to drink?" or "Do you need something to eat?", for exemplo? Because, if its at the final on the sentence is 'anything', but is it 'something' at the middle?
@thiagogoto27956 жыл бұрын
Nayara, everytime that you're offering something, you will use "some", if you are asking something, for example: "Can I have some coffee?", you will use "some" again. Besides these two situations, you will use "any" in the interrogative form. Ex: "Is there anyone here?"
