Lots of great tips Fit of our clothes are so important It’s not a bad thing to size up Clothing lines all run different And..no one knows what size you have on but you! The fit is way more important than size!!!

I have that Amazon cable knit turtleneck sweater in three colors. I LOVE it!! I struggle with the concept of different length pants because anything cropped too short makes me look so dumpy unless I am wearing heels. I continue to wear my full length jeans because they make my legs look their best. I think a big mistake people make is to buy trendy clothes with no thought to how they look on - not every body type is flattered by every trend.

The tip about fit is so true. I worked in retail/women’s clothing for a number of years, and trying to get women to even consider a larger size was very tricky. Just because you CAN get into a garment doesn’t mean you should wear it, or that it actually fits.

My fashion tip is always size up in a fitted coat. Thant way you can layer comfortably in the cold weather without feeling "happed up" as we say in Scotland

I am 5'2" and the problem with petites is sometimes you do have to go up a size but not always. So frustrating. Sometimes it's better to order 2 sizes and send 1 back.

Trouser length is real important. I'm not tall and that length that ends about an inch above the ankle, I hate. Makes my legs look shorter and my husband would say... where's the party? Another words, where's the party to invite your trousers to your ankles. Thanks for your lovely channel.

I’m 70 and love julien mcdonald….he has different length trousers which I always find helpful as I can’t be doing with alterations…when somethings for petite the whole garment is usually in proportion. 🌸

I was hoping to find a video from you today. You are always so warm and bubbly. I think a terrible fashion mistake can be with makeup (too heavy of an eyebrow, super thick false eyelashes, too much concealer, and overdoing it with lip liner) and nail polish if it's chipped or growing out. Some of my fashion mistakes have been in pant length and I cringe to think of a few years ago when I wore capri pants eeekkkkk. I also use to wear the wrong colors. I've learned a lot the past few years. Have a great day and keep on inspiring us Deirdre.

Thanks for your information. I’d like to ask about pant lengths. What length do you suggest if your Need to wear walking shoes (travel in college spring weather.). If I wear ankle length with no show socks and walking shoes I get cold. I need my ankles covered. So what do you suggest in this instance.? I would wear pants that cover your ankles so you can’t see your socks, but I don’t want to look old and frumpy.

Buying anything with a polyester fabric. Also IMO waffle knit and ribbed knit look cheap. Wearing tops with a crew neckline. I need V necklines. Lessons learned!

Im glad you mentioned wearing the same colour palette as I always preferred it on me - I do get fed up of the lack of colour in my wardrobe as being olive skinned & dark haired I tend to stick to cool tones, a lot of black grey & navy in my wardrobe, try to find colours that are blue undertoned rather than yellow

You are SO RIGHT ON in all of your fashion advice! And as usual, you touch on at least one issue I never considered (this time, it’s to let a little ankle show when wearing flats)! I will say, I actually like the skinny jeans that were too long. I think it’s because I was a teen in the early 70s, super tall and skinny, and could NEVER find trousers that were long enough and fit. I even once sewed myself a pair of striped pants with lots of length and made the stripes go horizontal! Too, I would sometimes steal my brother’s pants because they were long (infuriated him to discover me in our school hall)!

Interested in your watch. I have a small wrist and wonder if that size watch would be ok? I can't seem to find anywhere that you can go and try them on. Would also need an adjustment in fit as well. I do think midi skirts with knee high boots looks very elegant - and if they're flat, it looks lovely too! Sosander do different lengths in their jeans, too, which is helpful!

Absolutely right FlutterlyButterly. Knee high boots are fabulous with midi skirts and dresses but one reason is that they disguise the fattest part of the leg by encasing it. Yes, Sosandar do jeans for different heights - love them! XX
