Thanks for the video, I saw my tank was full and just hit regen in panic. So that did nothing but while it was trying to do its thing i was able to pull the float system and syphon almost all of the water from the brine tank, so even if its not fixed at least it wont overflow before I can get a technician out!

Thank you very much!!! Took a while to find your video. Everyone else was telling me to flow out lines that are probably blocked. Did two regular regeneration without using a shop vac to suck out the water to be below the float. I have three tanks total, two control heads but I believe the one that looks most similar to yours is a double unit and step 2 is brine/rinse. Jumped to that and see movement down in the brine well which I wasn’t getting before. Might not be fixed but thanks for providing an alternative troubleshooting method that sounds like I should have tried first if it’s that common

But what caused the water to get so high in the first place?

Thanks for the guide, My issue was the push to connect elbow was leaking water. Hence allowing air to be drawn in.

To “get that water down”? A bucket? A straw? A cup?

I have a Culligan estate ii and it the float is up so I’ll try draining it tonight and see if that works, I see what you mean if the float is up it’s not going to suck water out the hose. I hope all these things are the same.

I am using fleck 9100 valve. One issue is during brine draw step water going to outlet line instead of backwash. What should I do ??

ok, so this told me how to troubleshoot, normal operation. what would be the failure points though? how does water fill the brine but drain? what about no fill no drain?

So when the regeneration is finished and completed where should the water level be at? 6 inches under the float and ready for another scheduled regeneration for another time or day?

Hi! The amount of water you see in the brine tank after a regeneration depends on the size of system you have. The system should always refill the brine tank with the correct amount of water assuming the valve is programmed correctly. You should never have enough water in the brine tank to reach the safety float. If you are consistently seeing very high water levels, reach out to whoever you bought the system from and they can troubleshoot with you! Hope this helps! - Aplus Water

@@AplusWaterLLC Thanks for the reply We'll I think there is to much water. Without any salt in the brine tank and this tank is big. It's the size of a big plastic garbage box, water is at the bottom of the float. I just added 2 bags of salt and the water is very high now. So I'm not sure how to know where the water should be. Measure it with no salt in the brine tank I'm assuming? If so it should be about 6 inches under the float when the whole regeneration process is complete then add salt. My softener is a Fleck 5600 I'm sure there's a way to dial that back.

@@rotaxrider Since the amount of water varies depending on size of system, we would need to know the capacity of your system. If you are concerned that there is too much water in your brine tank, it is a good idea to call the seller of your system. If that is us, give us a call! We are more than happy to troubleshoot your system with you! - Aplus Water

I have a kinnetiq mechanical water softener. Am I right in saying with that kind of device it should be using the float to cut off the refill? Otherwise, how would it know when to stop

I can't speak for Kinetico Systems, but our Fleck systems use a timer countdown to determine when to stop filling the brine tank with water. The safety float works more as a backup way to stop the water in case something goes wrong with the timer (eg. the power goes out during brine fill, piston gets stuck, etc). For more info on your system, reach out to your Kinetico dealer. - Aplus Water
